The Wrestling Thread
Re: The Wrestling Thread
Yeah I LOVE AJ, she's this Era's Trish Stratus.
My money (HA) is on Bryan winning his Money in the bank and Either Fandango or Wade winning theirs.
Can't wait for RVD to come back. His TNA run was quite lack luster.
The Wyatts are Money and so is the Sheild.
I never like Mark Henry, but anyone is better than Cena.
Ziggler is great as face or heel.
Orton and Sheamus need something fresh, they're getting a bit stale.
CM Punk has been on fire lately, but so is Bryan.
Money in the back is fast becoming THE Summer PPV while Summerslam is just another show.
This year is no different.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I want a Best of WCW Saturday Night DVD released so we can see the best of WCW before the Nitro years. I missed a lot of that due to my family having moved out to the boonies where cable wasn't available at the time. (I also missed a lot of the "New Generation" years of WWF, but between the best of Saturday Night's Main-Event DVD and Raw: The Beginning DVDs I can relive that era.)
A best of Jim Crocket's World Championship Wrestling DVD would be a great compliment to that, as well, to cover the 80s era of WCW.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Man, I loved Bryan's offensive flurry last night in the Money in the Bank match. He just basically went Super Saiyan and took out EVERYBODY. It was like he went, "Fuck this shit. I'm winning this match right now and god have mercy on anyone who gets in my way!" It was clear he would have gotten the briefcase too if Kurtis Axel didn't unexpectedly show up and attack him for no apparent reason. WWE is pushing Daniel Bryan to nearly Cena levels with moments like that. When Bryan gets his game face on, everybody in the remote vicinity of him is about to get their ass kicked. Just ask the Shield. DB is so badass right now. Yes!Yes!Yes!
I love AJ winning again with that awesome submission. And Jesus Christ did Layla look hot in that dress. She was distracting...in a good way.
I don't usually watch pre-show stuff, but that Uso/Shield match was awesome. I've said it so many times before, the Usos need a big push. I want to see them do that war dance while wearing the titles.
Both MIB matches were great, particularly the Smackdown one. I don't think anyone could have predicated either match's winner
I like AJ's interference in Ziggler's match. It's going to be portrayed as heelish, but it isn't when you think about it. She was watching Del Rio get ready to send her boyfriend back to the hospital again. I think it's a normal reaction for her to run in the ring and hit him with the belt. Wouldn't you attack someone in a rage if you thought they were going to hurt someone you care about? The funny thing about how they are handling the AJ/Dolph split and the Punk/Heymen split is that in both cases I feel like it's the babyfaces who are in the wrong in how they are acting. Punk pretty much got what was coming to him last night from Heyman, and Dolph has been kind of pushing AJ away it seems like lately. Dolph telling AJ to go backstage is so out of character considering the dozens of matches where he happily had her at ringside.
Great foreshadowing in Sandow's promo, when he said people would be talking about him and...cut to Barrett's music so he never gets to say Cody. Speaking of Cody, he was amazing last night. Him and Punk can teach other guys a thing or two about conveying emotion through their facial expressions. I felt Cody's pain and Punk's shock
Apparently Christian nearly got a concussion from Sheamus punching him through the ladder. I'm hearing rumors that Sheamus is very stiff with his opponents. I certainly wouldn't want to work with a guy like that. The Philly crowd was cold towards him too
I think Mark Henry put in a good match, but it was really the low point of the night because we all knew Cena was winning and you could tell the Philly crowd absolutely hated him. Real wrestling fans don't like Cena. Marks do. I stand by that.
Loved the crowd saying, "No" whenever Bryan took someone else's offense and "yes" when he was attacking
Awesome crowd
Pretty brutal evening. I think both Punk and RVD were bleeding. Sheamus took a nasty fall off the ladder when RVD pushed it too. Looked like he could have broken his neck
My only disappointment with the PPV was no Kane replacement, and nothing truly shocking happened, unless you count the Heyman turn.
Miz sucks as a face, but I liked his Guerrero moment. I immediately though,"Oh the crowd is gonna be PISSED" when the ref ejected Heymen from ringside.

Jesus, Daniel Bryan got a Steve Austin level pop from the crowd. Holy crap! I think the roof came off the place and that's coming through my TV. Imagine being there live!

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I just started watching this week's Impact and I have a few comments:
1. Where the hell is Tazz? That's 2 weeks in a row. And last week, they sounded like they weren't expecting him to be gone.
2. Was that Kevin Nash?! Good god that's a terrible haircut, a terrible "accent", and a suit does not suit him. And who does TNA think they're fooling?!
3. Suicide, or Manik, robbed Sonjay Dutt and the rookie of the X-Division title. Those guys pretty much gave us the best parts of that match, and Suicide literally just waltz in and snags the title out from under them. Crap ending to a great match.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I've been really enjoying Bray Wyatt's promos. At first, it seemed like the insane ramblings of a crazy guy. However, if you start piecing together the things he's saying, it paints a bit of a disturbing picture that seems a bit heavy for the current state of WWE television
I think Bray Wyatt thinks he's Satan. Think about it...
On Smackdown this week, he tells Kane his fires won't hurt him. He says the fire fears him. He tells Kane he's already dead. About a week ago, he tells Kane, "You should be careful when you go around saying you're the Devil's favorite demon. You never know who might be listening." Also, in one of his earlier promos, he said something to the effect of, "The big man upstairs has been lying to all of you." And he always likes to say that, "monsters are real, and your heroes can't save you."
What do you guys think? He's playing a fascinating character right now, and it seems no coincidence Kane is the first guy he's feuding with.
I can't wait for Brothers of Destruction versus the Wyatt Family
Really digging the product right now. Bryan is getting close to taking Cena's top spot if WWE brass gets behind him. He pretty much already HAS upstaged Cena as far as fan support goes, it's just all about getting the WWE machine behind him. Punk/Lesnar are having a killer feud. Lesnar's Smackdown promo this week was fucking awesome and his, "Paul, say something stupid" on Raw was classic. AJ and Kaitlyn are becoming the second coming of Trish and Lita. We're seeing awesome turns and back stabs left and right that are freshening characters up. For example, Layla is back to being Laycool Layla and seeing her and AJ skipping around is awesome. Del Rio also turned on Ricardo. Plus, WWE is taking some chances right now. It's looking like Christian may get a run with the title, or at least chase it for a while. It's all good in WWE land right now
Althought that Total Divas shit is fucking stupid. Hopefully, the ratings are high enough though to justify its existence
