Anyone here seen Twelve Kingdoms? I watched it via the Netflix disc service a few years ago. Fantastic story and animation. That's what happens when NHK gets involved with a series.

Yep. I love that series. Too bad it wasn't popular enough and got cancelled half way through. That's why it just kinda ends in the middle.

Yeah. Same here. I liked that series too. I ended up getting some of the DVDs cheap a few years ago.
Be careful if you do find them. Not all volumes are connected. Different characters have smaller storylines and the series focuses on a few of them.
You might be better of finding them in order.

It takes me way more than 22 minutes to watch an episode of Monogatari. Not only do I have to pause and rewind all the time, I have to pause and stare at the still frames all the time.
The events of episode 2 were not surprising, but the conversations were.

Finished Hellsing OVA #8 last night. It was undoubtedly the best of the batch. Number 5 was a little slow, #6 picked up the pace and #7 was great, but #8 gave me everything I was hoping for. My only nitpick is that there were a couple instances in #8 where the animation looked really digitized...
When some soldiers were getting out of the helicopter and a few instances of Vlad's hord/army converging on it's victims.
Other than that though, I enjoyed it
I just hope Funimation picks up #9 and #10 and gets it out in a more timely manner than it took to get #5-8 released.
It didn't seem like Ghost In The Shell to me. The characters looked and acted completely different, and there was much less focus on the world than before. This series was all about its world before, so that's disappointing. On the whole it doesn't seem nearly as intelligent as Stand Alone Complex, but I'll save my judgement until the rest of the OVAs are out.
I couldn't enjoy it as a GitS story, but on its own I really liked it and I'm eagerly awaiting the next one.

I'm a bit weary to check it out myself. Still hard to get over Motoko's awful haircut. I don't get it, every other character has pretty much the same design and even if she's younger... just wow, lol.
