Anyone Collect or Still Listen to Vinyl?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

^yup, needledrops are easy. In my case, only reason I haven't done any yet is because I don't have long enough cables to reach from where my turntable is sitting to my computer.

If you're outputting from your stereo though, make sure to keep your volume in check. You don't want to record too loud and cause clipping. This isn't a problem if you're just outputting from a preamp.

Oh and one last thing, make sure you use the LINE IN jack on the computer, not the MIC IN jack. The MIC IN jack will have a crappy preamp in front of it, which you don't need for this. Also make sure to go into your settings and disable any kind of audio "enhancements".

Another Vinyl shopping day, this time I picked up a bunch of 60s and 70s stuff.

With the exception of Tommy, these are all things that I don't have on CD:

Same here. All new to me. Really looking forward to this Cash/Lewis album, in particular:

These are vinyl versions of stuff I've long had on CD, but wanted to give it a listen on vinyl anyway. I'm a big Elton fan. This is my fave Boss album too:

Total damage: 23 albums, $77.

That's a steal for $77 if everything is in pretty decent condition!

Nice pickups, dsh! We had a good vinyl day today, too.

(Not a good game day, but at least a good vinyl day.)

Mom picked up some James Taylor, Elton John, Simon and Garfunkel, some Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Mammas and Pappas, the Turtles and a few others. I got the following, including some nicely maintained 80's records that I was very happy to come across.

I spent around $30 total.

good stuff there.

I like that L.A. Woman from The Doors.

I have it too.

Santana stuff is cool too. His stuff has very psycodellic covers.

I wouldn't mind having that DEVO album too.

Did you hear the sad news that one of the guys from Devo passed away? :(

good haul!

Thanks. I was really happy to find that DEVO album. The Eurythmics one was a pretty sweet find too. I love Lennox's voice.

Today was a good vinyl day too. The thrift and antique store got some more good stuff in.

My mom laughed at me when I picked up Wang Chung

I miss Carlin and Pryor so much
The guy at the antique store said he just got a huge shipment of over 800 albums. Mom and I are going to have to go back in a couple weeks to see what he puts out.

^Only in the early 80's would a Comedy album win a Grammy whose first track is titled: Faggots revisited.

"Comedian" is still fairly funny.

I'm not too familiar with Murphy's stand-up beyond one (edited) tv special, so listening to Comedian should be interesting.
