Problem watching flash videos online - help?

Post by Ivo »

Hi,

I'm trying to watch a video online, and invariably what I get is some advertising spot in the start and then when the real video is going to start, it just stops there. pressing play doesn't do much other than making it look like its loading and then it stops again.

I tried different browsers, looked at the source of the webpage and located the links with ".swf" in them to open directly (and tried opening in KMPlayer directly) but get the same thing - ad, then stop.

I tried to google for some help but wasn't successful. Any ideas?

Maybe regional blocks or codec issues?

Care to share the link?

I mean, just so we can rule out the server itself having problems or the swf file being corrupt?

Sure. I don't think it is a regional lock as I get the advertising (all the thing) and like 0.5 seconds of the real video, then it stops.

From what I been reading up on it (and looking at the source and such), this will take you directly to the video skipping the advertising - but it has the same problem of only going half a second in, at least for me:

rtmp://video1.iol.pt/vod/mp4:13908403-L-500k
but that is a streaming video link so you need to open it on a player, the browser does not seem to handle it like that. Kmplayer handled it (but stopped after 0.5 s or so), VLC complained about something.

That is one of the ones I want, there are other "episodes" of that newcast showing below I also would like to open.

In case one of you guys can actually see the bloody video, maybe it is possible to download the .flv (or .mp4)? Anyway first things first. If anyone can manage to see the video let me know.

Ivo.

I started allowing scripts and stuff, but I go to allowing ads, but still not the video after several things. I gave up after a bit. Same as Flojo.

Thanks guys.

Maybe it is regionally locked :/
How nice that they still show the advertisement... :(

I'm also using Chrome, but I tried firefox and internet explorer so I think it is not a browser issue.

It's definitely on their side. I get the same results as the rest of the guys. I'm using Opera and am browsing from the Philippines.
