Anyone playing Defiance?

Post by wclem »

I bought it and am giving it a shot. Seems fun and has tons of content. Kind of hard at first as I begin to level up but looks like I will be busy for hours. The events are cool, just wish there were more.

Anyway, really wanted to hear what others thought. Please chime in :D

Thought about it but after beta testing it for a week or two wasn't impressed enough to make the investment.

It is dropping in price, may be worth picking up now. Got mine new, 39 bucks.

I just don't really get into MMOs that often they only have ever managed to temporarily hold my interest. About the longest I have ever stuck with one is The Secret World which I played for maybe 90 hours.

Besides that the story just seemed kind of so-so to me, but then again there were a ton of bugs at the time one of the most annoying of which was muted sound effects during cut scenes. Might try it if it ever goes completely F2P but for now I'm not to interested.

I heard the game was mediocre. I wanted to get it but it looks like a poor man's Borderlands. I will probably give it a shot if the game is super cheap or if they have a free weekend deal or something like that.

I don't know how the game is, I really don't enjoy MMOs. But the T.V. show is one of the best sci-fi shows on right now.

Well, truthfully, been playing for a few days now. I am sadly, sadly, sadly disappointed. I will never again complain about Bethesda games being buggy.
Lag, with everything. Tons of invisible obstacles. There really is no excuse for this. It is a shame they sold it like this. This my friends is why we should be able to ask for a refund when a game does not function properly. This must be the only industry where when something malfunctions you cannot get a refund. Even the reviews I watched/read did not report it as this flawed. It is just constant. No excuse, avoid at all cost.

I got it at release, the AI is dumb as a bucket of rocks, if you are any good at FPS games you will have no problems clearing every mission in the game

the story line is kinda boring, and the tv show doesnt help much.

The weapons are numerous but they are not even close to each other in terms of usefulness, you will spend the game useing only one or two of the ten or so types

I have not found it to be too buggy but I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to MMORPGS

the arcfall events boil down to everyone run to this place and shoot everything in sight. about 3-4 types of these and then you have done them all

the PVP is almost all- Invisibility, sneak up behind someone with a shotgun, triple tap them.

The dungeons are boring and you really really have to play like crap to not finish one and i mean run around in a circle shooting at the ground crap.

I would just stay away from it unless you really enjoy the TV show.
