I'm not going to have an extra penny though, unless I manage to find some part time work though.

No on-campus jobs? I had a summer job that I'd stockpile for most of the school year, but I did do the lab monitor thing as well. I could mostly work on homework if needed and have a little bit of cash coming in.

Frown: The realities of how little money I will have during college, and the next 4-6 years of my life. My dad will pay the rent, grocery bill, and gas so long as I do well grade-wise which is incredibly generous of him. I'm not going to have an extra penny though, unless I manage to find some part time work though. No eating out. No video games. No movies etc. The school offers a work-study program they send out to some students but I haven't been given the option yet. Ideally, I'd find a close-by Radio Shack or something to work part-time in.

Only certain students will qualify for work-study, there are eligibility requirements.

That said, your campus will most likely have "regular jobs" too - I worked in the commons (cafeteria) while attending school and loved it.

Thing is I do qualify, but, with how many others do, and with the general shortage of jobs in the area, who knows if I'll get the option?

Smile: Nice day. Preparing for a nice week long vacation in Missouri. We leave tomorrow. Weather should actually be nice for once. Normally it's too hot this time of year to really have much fun outside there in my opinion. I plan on lots of water skiing and wave-running.

Yesterday was my first real day of work. Yesterday, I just had to do street detail in a part of the park that stretches from north of the clock tower in front of the wave pool to near the cabanas in front of the bridge that leads to the Typhoon Tilly's dining area. Today, I had to first do street detail in the area that stretches from near Singapore Sal's to all the way near Crush n Gusher, with the locker area in between, but that was just the first two hours, while the last four was street detail in the area near Leaning Palms, from the cabanas to the south of Leaning Palms to the dining areas just north a little ways of it.

I liked how there was a consistent amount of work, and everything seems to run almost like clockwork. It's not like Food Lion where it seemed like managers were the majority or Orange Blossom where there was a too-casual management style. I also like how a nice part of my shifts so far are right around closing (at or as late as 9:30 (right around they start doing the fireworks at Magic Kingdom, which I can see part of if I look towards the west), since it's a bit cooler during that time.

I don't like how today we just got our new radios and they're still working some issues, like how everything broadcasts on the same channel, whereas the old ones had their own channel and you can just page a certain radio. I also didn't like how today, and to a lesser extent yesterday, the screwy Florida weather conjured up rain and thunder to throw off the day. Today, bad weather struck like right after one of the other custodians gave me a quick tour of the area of my first assignment, and the weather kept me off the streets for an hour or so. I mostly just hung out under the awning at the place you rent lockers, occasionally helping Guests (which is what we call the people who come to the park, kinda like how we're called Cast Members), mostly pointing them towards Singapore Sal's whenever they asked where to turn in their locker keys. I also don't like how the already-humid Florida weather seems to be even hotter in the park, since I sweat real easily.

But I'm off for the next two days, then I gotta work Monday through Wednesday. I also found out that since Thursday (our regular payday) is a federal holiday (Independence Day), we're gonna get paid a day early on Wednesday.

Found out that they have Super Sentai theme songs on iTunes, and I decided to pick up the theme to Chojin Sentai Jetman (one of my fave Super Sentai themes, alongside Zyuranger, Dairanger, Boukenger, and not sure if it counts but Akibaranger's Season 1 theme, but Jetman is so far my fave pre-Zyuranger theme).

Rough day for my daughter. We tried to get professional photographs taken of her, but she cried and fussed as soon as we set her down. No pictures were taken, we're going to try again in one week. Quite the embarrassing situation. I think she was confused and overwhelmed, this is maybe only the fifth time she's ever left our house. And we went out during a time of day that is typically her nap time, she ended up very much off schedule.

I also took her to the doctor this afternoon to get the second round of vaccines. She's a bit cranky now and I fear she won't sleep through the night.

Bone, your daughter is adorable! My kid saw and pointed while saying 'Phwee phwee (pretty) babby!'.

Makes me want another one so bad. Then mine pulls all the games off of the shelf and I reconsider.

Much of our time will be spent at a freakin' Mets-Nationals game As a die-hard Phillies fan, I'll mostly be rooting for injuries and cute ballgirls.
