I love you for taking a picture of your beer near sunlight. It's never fair to judge a beer if you can't look through it.

It's going to be Miller Time tonight as I'm having friends over for game six of the Stanley Cup, and I'm cheap when it comes to providing beer for six. I have a celebratory beverage if a certain team wins.

Personally don't think clarity should matter all that much whether a beer is good or not. There is a limit though, I despair at all the homebrew I see that's like mud, it just doesn't look that inviting to drink. I don't really fancy drinking murky pond water no matter how good it tastes. I do pride myself on my clarity and cleanliness of production, I love clean tasting beer with a well laid out profile, everything in it's right place. It's one thing I usually hit right time and time again, haven't produced a cloudy/muddled beer yet. Hazy, definitely, with the amount of hops I stick in my beer it's hardly surprising but nothing that resembles mud yet.

While I'm not sure I would care for it, as I don't like lots of hops, that is an absolutely beautiful beer you've made, Niode.

That's a shame, it's not that bitter (in my opinion, but then, my palette is fucked as I'm drinking my 260IBU monstrosity 999 Emergency at the moment and quite enjoying it) only about 36-40 IBU which is about the same as Sierra Nevada Pale Ale if you've had that.

Thanks for the compliments, it's as tasty as it looks. I wish sending beer to the states wasn't such a pain in the arse because I'd love to get some kind of beer swap going.

Like what?

I stick with Stoli.
Stoli is my mixing vodka of choice.

For drinking vodka to drink vodka, though, Grey Goose is one I like, I also quite like Van Gough and Kettle One, and I have had Belvedere a few times and like it pretty well. None of these are especially pricey/high end/boutique vodkas, but I can usually find one or two of them at most bars and would choose any of them over Smirnoff or Absolut and similar.

Probably the only flavored vodka I've ever had that I liked is the wild blueberry one made by the Cold River distillery in Maine. Unlike 90% of flavored vodkas it doesn't taste syrupy (because they distill with the berries instead of adding flavoring). Check it out here.

Also, one of the best nights drinking I ever had was at this place in St. Paul, MN: http://moscowonthehill.com/. If you ever get a chance to go, it is awesome. Flights of exotic vodkas. Great atmosphere. Intense.

Oh man, you know what I love? A chocolate stout mixed with framboise beer.
Hey, I found a specialty bar pretty close to my apartment that offers up a few framboise and chocolate stouts, so I plan to give this mixture a try in the near future.

I brewed a liqourice and raspberry stout. It's quite tasty. Half a kilo of unwashed raspberries went into the conditioning tank, it's got a bit of a twang to it. In a nice way.

Sounds tasty, but I have to ask: why unwashed raspberries?
