He has 2. Amazing Spider-Man and Avenging Spider-Man (basically the modern-day Spider-Man Team-Up). Unless you're counting spin-off titles like Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, Venom, and Scarlet Spider.

Hmm, a quick looks like there are also Superior Spider-Man and Spider-Men as well. UCSM sounds like something that would count, but I'm not reading any of them so I don't know. That'd still be 5.

My bad, Amazing Spider-Man is no more. I knew that, I'm buying them. It's just that Amazing has been around forever, so it just came out. Superior took over Amazing's spot.

Spider-Men is a mini-series, that ended already, only 5 issues.

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, is the Ultimate universe Spider-Man. Different universe, and a completely different guy behind the mask.

Amazing and Avenging no longer exist.

Amazing was replaced by Superior as part of Marvel's ongoing plan to completely destroy their best character. Avenging will be changing to Superior Spider-man Team Up.

Ultimate comics is an alternate universe.

For the record, none of these books star Peter Parker.

In the Ultimate Universe, Parker is dead and has been replaced as Spider-man by a young hispanic boy whose name I forget. I don't really care about Ultimate so I'm not really aware of it other than that particular broad description.

In the main universe, Parker is also dead (his mind at least). His body has been taken over by Doctor Octopus, and he's the current star of the book, running around as a darker Spider-man trying to prove himself "Superior" to the original, hence the title.

He murdered someone inside of four issues. Just for the record.

So really, Spider-man currently has two ongoing books, and they're both a bunch of bullshit, so it might as well be zero.

If it wasn't clear, I'm not pleased by this development.

Between Marvel's Spider fuckery and my total lack of interest in DC's new universe (Superboy used to be an interesting character, but they managed to make me not care about him anymore) the only comics I'm buying right now star good ol' Sonic the Hedgehog.

I just bought Avenging. Unless that was the last issue I picked up a couple weeks back, I'm pretty sure it's still running.

I believe its supposed to end with #16, or somewhere around there. The change is coming up in the next month or two.

Edit: I see they're in the twenties on Avenging actually, so my number was totally wrong, and the last issue is #22. Meanwhile, Superior Team Up starts in July.

The amount of multiple comics of the same hero and alternative universes is really annoying to me, also since some have a long running you can't just jump in one comic and read you go nuts with the story because you don't have any idea of what's going on.

I could never get into (Western) comics, personally. I did enjoy collecting Marvel cards as a kid though.

It is kind of a pain. I tend to drop in and out of actively following. Lately I've been completely out of the loop as I don't have a local shop anymore. More than anything though, I collect and read finished runs of stuff that I think will be a good read. 90s Vertigo was the best.

One of my comic buff friends said it's pointless to try and analyze where to start or catch up anywhere in comics, since it's never going to end. Just jump in somewhere I guess. lol

Deadpool is cool in my book, but reminds me a lot of Spiderman.
