I guess these "teams" have no real objective. It's not like they're all fighting each other, so we just pick our favorites

Zidane is a cool dude, but I always thought Final Fantasy heroes were weak compared to what other RPG characters can do. It just depends on the setting. Even within Final Fantasy, Cecil and Yang could never stand up to the Holy Knights or Monks in FF tactics.

Seems like all the Fire Emblem characters would be crushed by time travelers, death goddesses, and universe eaters.

I don't know. I killed a 400 year old vampire with a lesser party in that game.

Vampires aren't immortal though. They don't die to old age, but they can be killed.
