Its not an issue with my religion itself, as much as a certain aspect of it I have trouble understanding.
That said, religion can evoke heated arguments, and it may be best to ask your question via PM. (You can send one to me if you would like, and I am certain that other members would volunteer as well.)

Wow, you figured it out in a couple of weeks? Must not have been much of an existential crisis.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I think I've mostly gotten it figured out at this point.prfsnl_gmr wrote:There are a lot of religious people on these boards, and there are a lot of non-religious people here that have studied religion extensively. For future reference do note that Religious conversations are ones that typically go no where and get everyone pissed off. And I will lock the topic if it gets out of hand. Even if it is this one.
Just a friendly reminder.

That is what I thought and why I suggested that he conduct any discussion via PM.fastbilly1 wrote:For future reference do note that Religious conversations are ones that typically go no where and get everyone pissed off. And I will lock the topic if it gets out of hand. Even if it is this one.

Darn tootin'.prfsnl_gmr wrote: Seriously, though, we are here to help, FD; so, if you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to ask.
And although I just typed "darn tootin'" there are folks here that I've helped through a rough patch or two.
Crazy: A former headhunter of mine called about an incredible opportunity with IBM that I will definitely interview for if asked. I'd even say screw retirement if this pans out.
IBM would pay me to fly across the country and globe to "rectify B2B delinquent accounts". The HH said "Given your education, background, and mostly your personality, I think this job could easily be yours". That, and my Father was a programmer for IBM for quite a while when we lived in Chicago. Although IBM won't give a finger about what my Dad did for them, it makes for great small talk during an interview.
I LOVE working in e-commerce, but plan on leaving soon anyway, and this would be a dream job. My wife could retire if she'd like and travel with me as well. My responsibilities would basically traveling and collecting money.
Unfortunately I haven't met that many people face to face here, but those who have met me would most likely agree that I can be be successfully persuasive. Of course as a professional for IBM I wouldn't be a "F--k You, Pay Me" guy, but that's pretty much what I would be doing if I get an offer (and the CEO of my company is already writing a letter of recommendation).
*the fingers I have are tightly crossed*

Thanks. I feel like I've been pretty aggravating and annoying when it comes to everything I've been posting in this thread lately, so I'd rather not bother any of you guys.prfsnl_gmr wrote: Things move a lot faster when you are young...

I hope this works out for you! You know what they say, if you love your job, you don't work a day in your life.Luke wrote:Crazy: A former headhunter of mine called about an incredible opportunity with IBM that I will definitely interview for if asked. I'd even say screw retirement if this pans out.
I'm here for your body.

Luke, need a second in command? My employment might be drying up soon...
