A couple years ago at Dragoncon, LeVar Burton had the hotel room next to hours and we ran into him a dozen times during the show. We invited him to dinner with us and he declined, but he came by to hangout later that night. After that years convention I was going to dinner with a group of folk I use to work with and Neil Kapalin (Voice of Optimus Prime in Robots in Disguise and Tychus Findlay in Starcraft 2) and when we were leaving one of the hotels Patrick Stewart was standing around and I just asked if he wanted to come with. He did, but said no pictures. It was a great time. We talked about John LeCarre novels, specifically the 1979 version of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy in which he played Karla.indecks wrote:I really appreciate that she appreciates how much of a Stan Lee geek I am, but do I really need to spend $300 on meeting him? Last year's Con had the entire Star Trek TNG cast. I got to meet LeVar Burton (I actually made him laugh heartily!) and Wil Wheaton, but I really wanted to meet Patrick Stewart. Guy never came to his damn booth. He was too busy with photo ops and VIP people. I'd be willing to stand in line for quite a while to meet Stan, but I'm worried that it will be another Pat Stew experience because of that.
I did get to meet Stan Lee a couple years later, but only for a few seconds. My wife and I were waiting for someone and he walked by but his escort/bodyguard got separated from him by medical staff so he hid beside us for a few seconds. He told us thank you and was on his way.
