Living in places like Abilene (and briefly Midland) most of my life I have zero concept of the size of a city like Houston.
The idea of taking more than 20 minutes to even get to the opposite end of town is just foreign to me.

From my place 99 is probably the quickest. But that gets lights too. Not as bad as 6 though.Hobie-wan wrote:It takes forever to get down to my parents because the first highway that's a half of the 'straight shot' has so many lights on it.Gunstar Green wrote:That's not too bad considering how huge Houston is it could have been a lot further.

I love my wife. She's my best friend, shes the most lovely woman on the planet, shes the biggest pain in my ass, shes the wittiest/funniest person I know, etc etc. I love the ol' lady.
She also *wants* me to spend $300 on a VIP ticket to meet Stan Lee at this years ComiCon. Granted, I 'want' to spend the cash and meet my boyhood hero, especially considering the guy's like 85 and could pass away at any time. But it's also $300.
I really appreciate that she appreciates how much of a Stan Lee geek I am, but do I really need to spend $300 on meeting him? Last year's Con had the entire Star Trek TNG cast. I got to meet LeVar Burton (I actually made him laugh heartily!) and Wil Wheaton, but I really wanted to meet Patrick Stewart. Guy never came to his damn booth. He was too busy with photo ops and VIP people. I'd be willing to stand in line for quite a while to meet Stan, but I'm worried that it will be another Pat Stew experience because of that.

Haha, even if you're on an interstate just zipping by it takes longer than 20 minutes to cross Houston. If you're on actual streets... well...AppleQueso wrote:Living in places like Abilene (and briefly Midland) most of my life I have zero concept of the size of a city like Houston.

*spends $300 and four hours in line*
"Hi there true believer!"

If that sounds worth it, go for it.

How much would a VIP ticket to meet Luke cost?

Whatever it is, i'd pay it.

I'd hate to burst your bubbles, guys, but Luke's not a real person.
No, no, I know you will protest this, but consider:
Do you really think it's possible you know a stand-up comedian who reviews movies AND runs a yarn company that can beat that many video games while looking that snazzy in a top hat?
Yeah, no. Like I said, he's not a real person. Luke is a machine.
