Yeah, that's an old wrong story. The DEMO is free on Live, with only Jago available, but you can use it to do all the game modes. Then you can purchase the full game for a single price.

I look forward to coming back to this thread at the end of the year after we see that both consoles put up good sales numbers.

If history has taught us anything, it's that the majority of gamers won't let something like this come between them and the next release of <major franchise here>.

Is there any thought of Payday 2 being on PS4?

Also, as I haven't heard anything, with the Gaikai cloud gaming for PS2/PS3 games, could one theoretically use a physical copy of the PS2/PS3 game, but play it off of the cloud?

I'm pretty sure the Gaikai is going to be a subscription thing that contains select titles. I don't think we actually know enough about it to say for certain though.

I could see PayDay 2 going to PS4. Isn't it published by Sony Online Entertainment like the first one? If so, they're porting PlanetSide 2 over at the very least.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. Seeing as we're so late into the mix, I'd hate to buy a multiplayer heavy game for my 360 at this point.

That's true. Most of the populace consists of sheep and/or idiots. And of course the gaming media will become the hypocrites that they are and be behind the Xbox One when the next overhyped game like Halo, Call of Duty, etc. comes out. Microsoft likes to court the casual crowd, which is a lot of people. Most of which won't even know about all the bullshit that comes with owning this console.

But at least we know that Sony will be putting up a real fight this gen with so many more hardcore gamers behind them. Last gen was Nintendo versus Microsoft, with Sony in a distant third. I think Nintendo will be the one trailing behind this gen. They seemed rather complacent at E3, going back to their "buy our shit cause we got Mario and Zelda" ways.

I mean the DS, the Gameboy Advance and even the 3ds with some of the big releases coming this year just seem to always have more games on offer than Nintendo's main consoles. I don't think it would even hurt the industry all that much if they just dropped out of the console business altogether and stuck exclusively to handhelds.
Nintendo dropping out of consoles means that Microsoft and Sony will do what they please and you would be stuck with it. Less options is not what would be good for gamers. Honestly I own over seventy games for the Wii and Id wager that around 10 are first party.

The worry about handhelds is that there may not be another solid generation. Lets face it, cellphones and tablets are eating that market alive and when people are debating on a $30 3ds game and a $4 Android/iOS game, well the choice is simple.
Which is sad really. Most Android/iOS games aren't that great (notice I said MOST, not ALL). Angry Birds is one of the shittiest games ever made and yet it's been massively successful.

I don't think Nintendo dropping out of the console business would mean that Sony/Microsoft could do whatever they want. I mean looking at things right now, going into the next gen after this E3, Nintendo is already hardly a factor at all in the coming console war. E3 was Microsoft versus Sony, with Sony kicking their ass

The world could survive without a Nintendo console. I love my 3DS though
