Nintendo:
Although I felt a bit underwhelmed by their presentation, I'm pretty excited about the content. I've had time to go back and re-watch the videos from Nintendo Direct without the crappy stream. I'm catching up on the "Hands-on" videos released earlier this evening now.
Super Mario 3D World: It took a bit for it to sink in, but the game looks like a lot of fun. The multi-player aspect is genius, and I see a bit of Mario Party-esque areas in the stages. The 'neko' suit completely caught me off-guard and I almost busted into laughter. With a raised eyebrow, I it slowly started to grow on me while watching the game play. This adds another +1 for getting a Wii-U for me.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze: Can't say I gave the first game a chance. After playing a demo at work and being unimpressed with the wonky controls, and then reading all the negativity online, I decided to pass. This one looks similar to the first one but with a lot of little extras. If the controls are better, then I'll be picking this one up.
Pikmin 3: Yes please! I'm glad we got a little more information on this game. I played the original and absolutely loved it. Ended up picking up the 2nd one before I was finished with the first, but never got the chance to finish either game. This is definitely a +1 for me.
Mario Kart 8: A slight rip off of Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed which was a rip off of Mario Kart to begin with? Nice to see a new one, but I was never a huge fan to begin with. This will be a pass.
Super Smash Bros.: Original trailer? Looks like a Super Smash Bros game... Mega Man? Friggin' Sweet!!! Wii Fit Trainer??? SOLD!!!
Bayonetta 2: Didn't play the first one, and can't say I'm too interested in the second either. Looks great though, and I'm happy that fans of the series will be getting another installment. I may change my mind later down the road.
X: Not many new IPs got me excited this E3, but this one definitely did. Despite the fact that they really didn't go into great detail about this game, the idea behind is awesome. Could this be the Wii-U's Destiny?
Finally...
Pokemon X & Y: Really excited about the new features and content. This first real 3D Pokemon game, character customization, ability to ride pokemon, new "Fairy" type, Pokemon-Amie, Horde Encounters, and my favorite new feature, the "Player Search System". I will be buying a 3DS XL for this game alone.
All of that plus Sonic Lost Worlds pretty much guarantees that I'm getting both a Wii-U and a 3DS XL this year. I'm still putting more thought into the PS4, but that looks like a definite buy for me as well.

I'm excited about other new IPs, especially that steampunk game for PS4 (The Order 1886) and Wonderful 101 for the Wii U. But otherwise, HELLS YEAH to X! That game looks awesome!jinx wrote:

Forgot about Wonderful 101. The stream kept cutting out and all I got to see was the title. The few articles I was using to catch up didn't even mention it. Just finished watching the trailer, and I'm pretty pumped for this one too!

I'm really, really, really hoping this is good. I guess I'm hesitant that Rocksteady isn't doing it anymore. Plus I have a fear it may be a bit rushed. I HOPE I'm wrong. I LOVED Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. If they don't try to fix what aint broke, then it should be great.Gamerforlife wrote: Oh, and the new Batman, can't wait. It doesn't seem like a big departure from what we've seen, but I think this formula works. I think they are essentially doing what Rocksteady did with Arkham City, just add on to the formula rather than change it. I can't wait to beat the shit out of more Gotham city punks with new combat moves! Oh and I'm going to have a blast with the combat challenge rooms
I'll wait to see some reviews before I buy it. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Re: E3 2013 Thread
Nintendo dropping out of consoles means that Microsoft and Sony will do what they please and you would be stuck with it. Less options is not what would be good for gamers. Honestly I own over seventy games for the Wii and Id wager that around 10 are first party.Gamerforlife wrote:I think Nintendo is just better as a handheld company. I mean the DS, the Gameboy Advance and even the 3ds with some of the big releases coming this year just seem to always have more games on offer than Nintendo's main consoles. I don't think it would even hurt the industry all that much if they just dropped out of the console business altogether and stuck exclusively to handhelds.
The worry about handhelds is that there may not be another solid generation. Lets face it, cellphones and tablets are eating that market alive and when people are debating on a $30 3ds game and a $4 Android/iOS game, well the choice is simple.

Re: E3 2013 Thread
Slate had this interesting chart on console prices:
http://slate-features.s3.amazonaws.com/ ... chart.html
The lesson here is that, while the Xbox One is undoubtedly expensive, it has nothing on the PS3, Sega Saturn, and Atari 2600.
