You might want to dig a little more into the PS2 library: Fatal Frame series, Clock Tower 3, Rule of Rose, Siren, Echo Night Beyond, Kuon, Haunting Ground. (May as well put the Onimusha series in there too.) Plus more, if you feel like slumming it a bit. All the Gamecube has is Eternal Darkness, RE Zero, and remakes of RE 1-3. Great games, though they may be, I would hardly call the Gamecube the last bastion of horror gaming.

Huh... how did I forget that? Or for that matter several of the other games you mentioned which I have heard of...

Okay, bad memory on my part. I'll just be over here, taking a point off of my gamer cred.

Nah, don't sweat it. The Gamecube has a nice, quirky little library that gets overshadowed by earlier Nintendo libraries (I would say unjustly so) but it's still not overly outstanding. The PS2 library is an ominous, looming thing, too; given nearly a decade to sit and amass a huge number of titles for it's library, even before you consider the PS1 library that can be added to it.

I just mentioned the good survival horror games that were released in the US, though. If you're still looking for more out of the PS2, there's quite a few more import games in the genre. They're a bit less straight-forward, though.

I recently gave the gamecube a second chance, I had it a few years ago but didn't really enjoy it. I find it much more enjoyable now especially after discovering some quality games (and some I can't wait to play but haven't such yet such as beyond good and evil which I hear is great and tales of symphonia too).

Also, the wavebird is a great controller!
The McCollum wood burned well.

I don't think I've ever met a console that I didn't like in one way or another (strictly basing this off personal experience and consoles that I've owned). I was lucky enough to own most of the major release systems and could always find a game that I enjoyed. All of my systems got equal love from me, except for SEGA consoles... they got a little extra.

The only console that was never given a real chance was my Xbox 360. After buying the system to play Halo 2, I picked up Gears of War and a couple other games. I enjoyed those two games, but couldn't really get into any of the other ones. I dug around game stores and looked through the console's library, but nothing interested me at the time. Sold it for the PS3 and never looked back.

May give the system another shot some day, but would be more interested in giving the original Xbox it's first chance as I've never owned one. I loved my Dreamcast/PS2/Gamecube and never found the Xbox appealing.
