Anyone heard about this? I was looking around on Amazon for some stuff, and this caught my eye on the first page. It's supposed to be a remastered compilation of Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (so apparently the Wii will now have no claim to any Tales of... exclusivity) commemorating the 10th anniversary of Tales of Symphonia. (Really?) It's going to be a full price release in Japan, so the comments on the amazon page are mostly along the lines 'probably pass.'

Anyone actually excited for this? Too much HD remaking at this point? Dawn of the New World isn't even five years old yet. I guess I would prefer having an updated version of it on the PS3, though.

It'll be $40 like all the other HD remakes. And I'm pretty excited I guess. It looks like another good RPG for the PS3, so what's not to like?

Oh, and I still think Dawn of the New World is the best Tales game.

Yet they won't bring over the Vita Tales of remakes. :/

I think this is kind of moot when it's coming to another console, two games to boot. Would viewing it as a "port" be less of an annoyance for some?

I don't know if I'll get it, I played most of Symphonia and it was great, but I wonder if it'll feel pretty dated after now playing Graces F, and I'm pretty stoked for Xilia.

I really loved Symphonia on Gamecube but I didn't hear good things about the Wii games.

Is Graces F a good game or should I wati for Xilia?

That's not an invalid point, but the coupling, and the main reason for the update, is a game from the last generation of consoles. It's not that these are really any more port than the other HD update compilations. i get what you're saying about the sequel, though. My main feeling was that if even Japanese fans are scoffing at the idea of paying full-price for a Tales of... game, maybe this trend has gone too far.
