Platforming seems to be hit or miss with me. I do amazing one second, then I miss that spring and fall to my death 6 times in a row causing a Game Over. Sometimes I have to stop for a while and calm down before I can continue playing...

At first I thought it might be a side-effect of getting old or having a kid. I'm sure not playing any Mario games for nearly 10 years has something to do with it...
For what it's worth I still find Mario 1 and Mario 3 pretty tough (especially Mario 1). The momentum physics can make things tricky sometime. I feel like the momentum physics have been adjusted somewhat in the NSMB games as mario feels like he gets up to speed faster and has more control in the air. I honestly think this is whatg makes them easier, rather than their level design.

I do that kind of junk all the time, it's very annoying. It's almost like pressure to perform the task perfectly that causes you to screw up.

Happens to me on tests too, if I don't wrangle in my expectations. I do best if I don't give a shit :|

Played a little more Prime 3, still very early on. Just arrived on the 2nd planet Bryyo for the first time.

It's taken a little bit because I've been scouting out these friend vouchers so that I can trade with someone on the backloggery before the Wii message board goes down on the 28th. I've got 12 so far, and I need 15 in order to trade. 2 of the ones I dont have are unlocked by progressing through the story, so hopefully it won't take much longer.

Two more down, 7 to go.

1. Demon's Crest - SNES
2. Sonic Pocket Adventure - NGPC - Complete
3. Harvest Moon GBC - GBC
4. Panzer Dragoon - Saturn
5. Shadowrun - Genesis
6. Chrono Cross - PS1
6.5 Radical Dreamers - SNES - Complete
7. Ys 3: Wanderers from Ys - Genesis - Complete
8. Deus Ex - PC
9. Metal Slug 2 - PSN
10.Golden Axe 3 - Genesis - Complete

Radical Dreamers was brief, but a very enjoyable diversion. I'm glad I decided to give it a run. I only played the main scenario, which is the one that "matters" in terms of the series story (which is no longer canon as of Chrono Cross, but whatever), but I may give the others a shot sometime soon.

I think the highlight of the game is the truly excellent music. It really sets the mood well.

I also finished Sonic Pocket Adventure tonight. Special Stage 6 was a bastard and took a lot of practice, but the rest of the game was a breeze. Collected all of the emeralds and fought the real final boss.

That said, it was a blast, and it plays better than the Game Gear games (which are great, don't get me wrong) when compared to the classic Genesis titles. Good stuff, and I'm glad I finally have it under my belt.

I'm still plugging away at Harvest Moon and Metal Slug.

I've actually never heard of Radical Dreamers before. I may look further into this later on just for fun. Looks really interesting.

I want a NGPC badly... I always seem to just miss out on good deals. :(

You should definitely check it out man. It took me maybe an hour and a half finish it, and I loved every moment of it. It completely sucked me in.

And again, that music. Listen to this:

The Girl Who Stole the Stars

Le Tresor Interdit

Final Confrontation

As for the NGPC, I feel ya. They tend to be listed for ridiculous prices, and the good deals get snapped up quick.

Took a while to get mine and its a bit beat up, but it has both battery covers and I got a good price, so I'm happy with it.

Played a couple more hours of KOTOR. I now am a Jedi apprentice and am hunting hounds for my 3rd training trial.
I am really digging this game, but I have to admit that playing this game late at night is not the best idea; I keep falling asleep during all the long winded npc dialog.

I dig how so many people have Panzer Dragoon on their list (me included). I love the game.

Will you guys be attempting a straight run through? Just as a tip, there is a level select code (BC you can't save) if you need it. I believe they added this feature in for PDZ.

I wish I could add it to my list. I have the game and the system, but both are "survivors" of Katrina. Unfortunately, they weren't as strong as my Dreamcast. I fear I'll never get to play the Saturn. :(

Prime 3 again.

Destroyed one of the power generators in Bryyo. Controls are becoming more intuitive, and now the galactic federation have buggered off, that classice metroid feel is back. The game still feels a little scaled back. In someways I like that, particularly the slight bit more guidance (I love getting lost in 2D metroid, but found it frustrating in the Prime games), but I'm not keen on the more limited equipment set so much.

I managed to find two guys on the backloggery who needed to get the 15 friend tokens before June 28th too and were both PAL region, so we set up a trade and will all be sitting pretty will enough friend vouchers to get by when the wii message board shuts down at the end of the month.
