Defeated the General/Gremlin in the Stone Robot.
Re: RPG Progress Report
So tonight I got Frog back and ran through Magus' castle. Now my characters have just woken up in 65,000,000 B.C. Chrono is level 28, and the rest of the team range from 25-28 or so. I'm using a team of Chrono, Frog, and Robo, since they get a nasty triple tech, Frog and Robo have healing abilities, they all excel in melee, and they all have some versatile techs, though my magic is a bit lacking and Robo's horrendous speed is troublesome at times.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Interesting. I don't think I ever rolled with a Chrono/Frog/Robo party.
Re: RPG Progress Report
Who did you use? I could understand a Chrono/Frog/Marle party too, since Marle is such a great healer, but in general I don't care much for Lucca. She is weak, lacks the healing abilities of Marle, Robo, or Frog, and doesn't really come into her own until after you can get her magic and then build up her techs. I'd rather bring in someone who can either give and take a beating, can heal effectively, or can do both.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Interesting. I don't think I ever rolled with a Chrono/Frog/Robo party.

Re: RPG Progress Report
I personally didn't find Robo to be that great. I normally used Chrono with any 2 of Frog, Marle or Ayla. I didn't really use Lucca either.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Interesting. I don't think I ever rolled with a Chrono/Frog/Robo party.
Re: RPG Progress Report
I always used Chrono Robo Frog for Magus's Castle since they get Triple Raid so easily. All the other triple techs require at least Element2 magic or the equivalent.

I couldn't remember on my own, but incidentally I brought my personal laptop to work today.Ack wrote:Who did you use? Just looked at my last emulation save file - I had Chrono, Ayla, and Robo.
The game is so (comparatively) easy that there is really no way to have a "bad" party as far as I'm concerned.
Re: RPG Progress Report
So I beat one of the penultimate Paralogues, but then the next one I tried kicked my butt. I decided to just skip em for now and go to the Endgame battle. Going well so far! I'm about halfway up the map toward the enemy commander.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Boy, all this class based stuff seems complicated. I still haven't decided what to do with my first master seal and second seal. I don't want to make a mistake and regret it later, especially since I'm playing on Lunatic.alienjesus wrote:I would aim for two promoted classes per character max. If you do 2 unpromoted units, expect to only manage to reach one level 15 skill at best. Some characters ARE worth reclassing whilst unpromoted though, just for the benefit of extra levels and stats that are otherwise hard to get. For example, Kellam might be worth reclassing as a thief early so he can enjoy the benefit of speed levels ups, then reclass him as a general or great knight later and he won't feel like such dead weight. Plus he can pick up Move + 1 to stop him lagging behind so much in that heavy armour. Miriel could enjoy her time as a dark mage to help patch up her shoddy defense.ZenErik wrote:Oooh. Guess I thought the game would be longer. I have done 8 chapters so far. Was planning on doing a few base classes and a few promoted classes with every character. So I should probably just aim for lvl20 and then promote? And if I really like this system I should just replay on a harder difficulty and do more grinding and do more reclassing?
The only characters I would absolutely recommend reclassing are the special units. They don't promote and don't get more than 2 skills, so time spent in the other jobs are nice. Donnel you want to reclass ASAP as villager is the worst unit in the game (and he's an absolute demon in any other class) although you can go for Underdog if you want at level 15, it's probably not worth it. The Taguel and Manaketes enjoy the stat bonuses and skills from other classes before reclassing back in the late game, and even your dancer can become a killing machine if she spends some time elsewhere. The dancer is still useful either way though, so she's more optional than the other 3 imo.
Are sorcerers really powerful? I've heard people say the player avatar is great in that class
