Well at least it'll make a funny story once it's all sorted out.

I'm going to take a loss on some of the checks as I don't want my 93 year old Grandmother to ask her to send another check.
Stupid me.

Ouch dood, that sucks...Luke wrote:Over EIGHT HUNDRED dollars...thrown in the trash because I didn't think before answering my wife.
My kid went through a phase where everything needed to go in the trash. I'm pretty sure she's thrown away a lot of crap I really needed and I'll never really know. I'm missing the remote to the TV and a booklet filled with USB Flash drives with important information on them. I'll either find this stuff when I move, or it's in a dump somewhere. Ah, oh well... at least she got happy every time she threw something away because she was "helping".

^I'll get most of it back, just disappointed in myself for not thinking (and I kind of blew off my wife with "Whatever. Just throw 'em away").

Good point.
I do not celebrate my birthday, but people give me presents sometimes. Last year my grandmother got me a silver fork in my wife's silver pattern, and my parents got me another silver fork in my wife's silver pattern. Both of which I bought off ebay for my mother since we found them for cheap. My wife bought me dinner when I came up and a couple small things - since we were planning a wedding at the time I told her to not buy me anything.
This year I know I am getting Daft Punk's RAM on vinyl (wife bought it and accidentally forwarded me the shipping confirmation) and some of my grandfathers tools, but that is more than the nothing I was expecting.
Edit - not a knock against Luke, just a statement.

The package ordeal turned out to be a big misunderstanding too. The boxes have numbers written on the sides, but the don't correspond with the apartment numbers. The lady was looking at the number instead of the addresses, so she said our package wasn't there. When I came back, the other worker who knew me immediately got it for me.
I think I've found Jinx's birthday gift, so I'm happy about that. They don't take paypal though, so I have to think of other ways to order it. If I use the debit card, he will see. The guy is physic when guessing his gifts. One year I had to go as far as boxing something three times so he wouldn't know what it was, and he STILL guessed it.
I'm here for your body.

What made me smile:
A couple of weeks ago I was a groomsman in my friend's wedding. We were lining up along a dock to take a picture and the dock collapsed, dunking most of is in the lake. I found out from people giving me crap at work that the video of it is all over every major news outlet. I'm glad my friend's wedding got some unexpected minor internet fame.
What ticked me off:
Reading the comments on the videos. People on the internet are savages.
