it's a pricey game, and it's one of the best games on the original Xbox. here's a good review:

If you like action games with super cheesy over the top funny dialogue, then this is for you.

Just watch a few trailers on YouTube. You'll understand soon enough...

Grabbed some games from a couple of local stores, I paid $90 in total. The best deal was Crash Bandicoot for $10.

got this today at a yard sale on the way into work. Paid 5.00 for it. there is an issue with it though. It turns on and plays for a minute and then cuts out. Lady said her husband had traced the problem, but couldn't read the part number to look for replacements, since its in japanese. He's an electrician and this is a modern amchine with all kind of wires and such in the back. If he coulnd't figure it out, I'm not sure what luck I'll have but I figured it was worth taking a stab at. Going to go back after work and ask for more details, see if I can find out which part exactly is bad. And then see who here can help find some replacement parts. Maybe... or I'm just gonna get frustrated and sell the thing to someone smarter than me...

Very Nice! Stick with it, even if you cannot do a repair restore. You could customize it with a different launcher or whatever else to make the table more fun. Maybe mod it by adding a couple of flippers and move the table from vertical to an angle? A few pegs might have to be pulled to guide the balls towards the flippers. Even a few pinball active bumpers strategically placed could really bring it out. A ridiculously extreme mod, but you would definitely own a one of a kind Hybrid Pinball Pachinko table.

I never get the draw of Pachinko with very little control of the balls once launched. I know its big in Japan, played as slot machines to win prizes. As in slot machines, it does not have the same draw when set up in a home since there are no prizes to entice. Although scoring big is nice when a ton of steel balls drop in the basket, almost like older slot machines that drop a bunch of change.

My parents had an older mechanical model decades ago. The older manual launch lever had a little variance in it to send the balls to a different part of the screen. Most of the time the balls would miss the catch baskets, imagine a set of flippers added would give more interactivity over just watching the balls tumble.

I scored a great deal over on eBay today on a new, sealed, boxed copy of Activision Anthology for the GBA after a discussion here on PS2 classic compilations. $12.99 and free shipping, not bad considering loose cartridges go for this price and up to around $25-30. It doesn't have all the games the PS2 and PC ports do, but it has the Activision and Absolute titles as well as the homebrews that were on the PC.
