Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Been trying to get to sleep for the last hour and a half but I'm having one of the most strange experiences I've ever had. I keep nearly falling asleep, definitely losing consciousness. I keep waking up feeling strangely uncomfortable and alert. Like my body is in the whole fight or flight mode.
This cycle has been happening every 20 minutes. This is my third time getting up and I'm not sure I want to go and try again.
I don't know why the thought has come up, but I feel more mortal than I've ever felt in my life before. I don't know how else to describe how I feel. It's gone mostly away now that I've pulled myself out of bed for 5 minutes or so. It's frankly very unnerving.

I've experienced that before and I have no idea what the hell causes it.
My heart is usually racing in addition to the feelings you described.
Its very unpleasant.

Did you drink any coffee or any unsettling food before trying to sleep? Were you awake for less than 12-13 hours? All those things kill my attempts at sleeping.

I've had trouble with insomnia and all sorts of strange sleep sensations before. This is the first time I have ever dealt with this feeling. And yeah, I have to say, not a fan.CFFJR wrote:I've experienced that before and I have no idea what the hell causes it.My heart is usually racing in addition to the feelings you described.

Nope! Didn't do anything different really. I have been getting more stressed than usual though. Haven't had any problems over the last week, but maybe today was the tipping point.o.pwuaioc wrote:Did you drink any coffee or any unsettling food before trying to sleep? I popped a few benadryl, opened the window, and turned on the fan. Hopefully in an hour or so I can coax myself into a nice semi-normal sleep. Until then, guess I'm part of the late-night club tonight.

So tell me this. At what point does the late night club become the early morning club? I'm not sure if we ever set this straight in any of the dedicated threads.
That's something I'd like to see soon. We can add that to the ticked off:
Still no word on Limited Edition Ouyas. To my knowledge they haven't even started shipping them yet.

I think Dave summed it up as follows: if you went to sleep and woke up in the AM, then you're in the early morning club, but if you did not sleep yet and it's night, then you're in the PM late night club.

Same here. I woke up at 6:45 this morning, and I'm still up.Jmustang1968 wrote:I belong to both clubs, my sleeping is erratic
