I'm looking for one currently. I'd appreciate any advice towards that.[/quote]

I bought a 47 inch LCD Phillips 47pfl3603d/27 it has amazing color and HD with component and S-Video. I had no clue s-video was any good and ordered s-video for my snes, gcube, n64. can't wait to see what happens. i have a 27 crt with s-video and i have a feeling it will be nicer than my 47.

Component is even clearer. But you'll need to test it first.
Some TVs don't accept certain low res video modes from that input.

component looks 100X better on my CRT than on my LCD with the Wii. component on my LCD with Wii is useless.

Do you have the TV and Wii both set to widescreen? That can look nasty with LCDs.

Turn those options off, it'll more like Gamecube sharpness then.

I find that for whatever reason, the Wii's menu looks especially dreadful. Looks fine when you're actually playing a game.

I'd suspect some kind of smoothing effect. Wii menu looks unnatural for lack of better description.

I was used to DOS and Commodore 64 in the old days.
Not so fond of Mac/iPod inspired post modern design.

Looked pretty crappy on my last CRT too.

That menu is just a blurry mess.

it has to be a late model quality brand. and it has to be red, blue, green component. i have a 2005 27 inch Phillips and it looks HD no lie. I will see if i can get a good picture.

got a pic. the photo does no justice but its smooth as butter.
