Still on the last dungeon of Soul Hackers. I've been busy doing other non-gaming things. But I hope to finish this one by the end of the weekend and then start either Fire Emblem Awaking or SMT Strange Journey. :)

Gurumin

Stupid fetch quest to find a mole to dig through a wall. Only played for about 25 minutes last night because my baby needed snuggles.

Made it to Omnitopia (Secret of Evermore) earlier, but forgot to save my game and ended up dying. So, I had to get the Diamond Eyes over again.

Started Radiant Historia and just got to the first node. Nice music, interesting combat but not enough of it yet. Seems cool so far...don't know if I'm in for the long hall.

And now I just finished up Secret of Evermore. I was mostly untouchable during the final gauntlet, abusing the Barrier and Energize spells.

Just got the water crystal in Final Fantasy 1.

Unfortunately I'm being forced to use a walkthrough for most of the game, as it gives practically no direction whatsoever.

Gurumin

Defeated another boss - a huge moth creature. Took forever, as I had to wait for it to swoop down and get into the right position before I could attack.

Ungraded my headgear (the only type of armor in the game). Still feel like I never have enough money to buy the things I want.

And I just realized you are ranked and receive a medal after each dungeon. You can trade the medals for items in the town. Gold medals are the best, but you need a perfect run of each dungeon to get one, I've only done this two or three times. What sucks is that earning a gold medal is dependent on some really silly arbitrary factors - like making sure you break every single pot. This can be tough as many are hidden from view under you start swinging the camera around. I'm not going to redo any dungeons unless the game gets unbearably hard to the point where I need the extra money and items.

This applies to nearly every 8 and 16 bit RPG, really.

What's nice is that I have two Final Fantasy strategy guides, the original Nintendo Power issue and the FF Origins guide.

Just beat FF1.

Over all a really fun game. I really appreciated the artwork it unlocked after beating the game.

But now, after having beaten FF7, Crisis Core, and now FF1 back to back, it's time to play something that isn't an RPG. :/

EDIT: Interesting note. Only two of my character's ever died throughout the whole game, and I never once had my whole party killed. That is until the very end, where on my first attempt against the end boss he managed to wipe them all out because I was acting too aggressively. I beat him on the second try though.
