We used to get several of those a year when I lived in Auburn. First, we would get Auburn's. Then we would get the Auburn-Opelika one (Opelika being Auburn's sister city that is right next door). And then we would get one for the county around Auburn.

I can't even tell you how many times I've been derping around the internet - "oh look a great new restaurant just opened in Augusta!".... oh... Augusta, Georgia.

I could understand our elders may needing a Yellow Pages, but the print is too darned small for them to read. I've used the Yellow pages as packing paper when moving, and that is about the only use I can see fit for it.

Tried that in High School. Didn't turn out well for me.

I realized that Yellow Books do serve more purposes:

Rip it in half to impress your friends (which you can't do, but you can try and make your friends laugh and possibly give yourself a hernia)

Makes a great door stop

Find funny names for prank calls

Charcoal starter for a chimney



...that's about it.
