Suggestions for a SNES gaming weekend

Post by Retrogamer0001 »

Hey all, looking for suggestions for at least FIVE Super Nintendo games that can be beaten over the course of about a day. I have some vacation time from work coming up and would like to revisit the SNES era. I already plan on playing (and beating) Super Metroid, Super Mario World, and Zelda: LttP. I have a decent library of games and don't mind spending a few bucks on Ebay to help out with this mini marathon :)

Do you want big names, classic hits, or things that can just be beaten easily?

Nevermind, I took a second to look over your Backloggery page. I would recommend The King of Dragons and Cybernator, with F-Zero as a trade off in case you feel the urge to play a racing game. None of those are very long, but all three are excellent games.

Good suggestions Ack - I'm looking to play the quality titles that probably aren't RPGs (I'm an RPG fanatic but don't want to get hooked on playing Earthbound, FF3, or Chrono Trigger for the entire weekend...that's for the dog days of summer :P). F-Zero is one I overlooked and will probably play through...

Ah, then yes, F-Zero is a great choice. The King of Dragons might appeal to your desire to play an RPG, as it does feature levels and equipment, but it's a hack and slash game at its core.

You've actually got quite a few great titles that shouldn't take too long to beat in your backlog. Street Fighter 2, Thunder Spirits, The Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse, Mega Man X, so on and so forth...I really don't think you'll need to go out and purchase any, because you've already got quite a few greats to pick from!

I suggest the following from your backlog:

The Adams Family
Demon's Crest
Goof Troop
Kirby's Avalanche
Magic Sword
Plok
Skyblazer

They are all good games; it is unlikely that anyone else will recommend them, and you could probably play through all of them in a day.

Haha, I'll second Goof Troop and Magic Sword!

Skyblazer for sure. Magic Sword is fantastic arcade style goodness.

Flashback. That's easily beaten in a day. I love that game so much. SNES version may not be the very best version but it's the one I had/have.
