Nintendo tapes!
I wonder if tapes was regional? I never heard that until coming on this forum. Another one is board vs. level. I never heard board until visiting retro gaming forums.

Where I live I see a lot of people say console when they mean controller. Like, a Nintendo with 2 consoles. Do you see that on English sites too, or is it a 'retarded Flemish people' thing?...

I don't think I could be less excited about this.

For the first time in a loooooong time I'm actually looking forward to the next Sony console. It's taken them a while to realise it (funny how coming close to financial catastrophe and a lot of bad PR will change a business' attitude to their consumers) but they seem to be going down a very pro-consumer route as of late. It seems to have come from a shakeup at the top following Andrew House's appointment as CEO. Pro-consumer and developer centric seem to be the motto of PS4 and today's Sony. For the first time since the Playstation, Sony appear to be pushing boundaries again. Easy to develop for, cheap (if rumours of a £400 Xbox are true), focus on quality games and pushing game design to the next level. Where do I sign? WiiU/PS4 seem to be where it's at so far. They've finally realised that they can't shit in a box and slap the Playstation logo on it and have it sell. The Xbox Infinity or whatever it's going to be called can go die in a fire as far as I'm concerned. What happened? Always on DRM? Adverts galore AND a monthly subscription? Yeah fuck that noise.

In other news, hell froze over.

"a 'retarded Flemish people' thing"

To be fair, before now, there is only one other time you could be looking to Sony's next console.

Well, technically 'cassette' is a word that can correctly apply to carts. Japanese NES and SNES carts are called cassettes. Since carts were being rented when VHS was the main video format, they were often called tapes by people where I grew up too.

We always called them cartridges. Even back then. Or just Nintendo games.

I never called them tapes myself. Just heard it while at the rental place or from friend's parents.
