I think you'll find the dreamcast a better investment, really. Try E.G.G.!

I'd say Dreamcast. Most of the arcade ports (which most are poor ports) on the 2600 have been re-released in their full arcade glory in many forms including collections and downloads. Many that weren't arcade games were released via Atari Anniversary and the Activision Anthology. What's left really wouldn't warrant picking an Atari 2600 over a Dreamcast, IMO.

DC, and it'ts not even close. 2600 games are just too shallow, and there's countless ways to play its biggest games without buying an actual system, while some of dreamcast's best games remain exclusive. And there's nothing cooler than a VMU.

Dunno, i'd go either Odyssey or 360 if I could pick one and only one.
Do you prefer old, 1-button, slow, poor graphics, wonky AV connections, htf working controllers or are you more a state of the art current gen HD kind of chap?

Re: Atari 2600 or Dreamcast?
You get can both for like $75.
Atari games are about a buck or two apiece.
GET BOTH.

If you go yard-selling or flea-marketing ever, you should be able to find them for bit cheaper even. Atari 2600s are especially common.

Your reply made choosing between the two a no-brainer really.
Unless there's also a DC emulator for Atari 2600 of course...

Re: Atari 2600 or Dreamcast?
Go with the 2600 so you can see what the console that launched an industry looks like.
Go with the Dreamcast if you want to see what the console that killed a company looks like.
