Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
$2.97 a piece at the Goodwill. The old guy who comes in the mornings and buys out all the video games can SUCK IT!

Is the "32X" supposed to upside down on the Doom box?
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Thanks guys! I'm really excited about this find. Just goes to show that good finds can still be had these days at GW.
About a week ago I was picking up a few small(insignificant) gaming items, and the woman helping me check out told me that she has noticed the same old man come in when they open. Apparently, he buys them out on most their video game/electronic items. Judging by their recent stock, I'd say he comes in and picks 'em clean.BoneSnapDeez wrote:And who's this old guy you speak of? Not sure if it was their intention, but I'm fairly certain all of them turned out like that.BumbleChump wrote:Is the "32X" supposed to upside down on the Doom box?

So I'm trying to figure out the difference between the old guy and you specifically telling us what you pay for things every time you pick something up (sometimes from another forum member) and then put it in your sale thread for 2 to 5 times more than you paid.Onyxthecat wrote:Sweet find dude! Oh right, the old guy probably doesn't tell people how much of a markup there is.

So I hit up my new favorite Salvation Army today and picked these up for less than 10 bucks for the lot: Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego? CIB, Aladdin, Micky Mania w/ manual, and Super Mario World w/ manual. Not too bad for the price which was not a given as they were marked up for more. But the woman working the counter gave me a good, unofficial price on em.

I know this was directed at Onyxthecat, but I'd like to add something here.Hobie-wan wrote:So I'm trying to figure out the difference between the old guy and you specifically telling us what you pay for things every time you pick something up (sometimes from another forum member) and then put it in your sale thread for 2 to 5 times more than you paid.Onyxthecat wrote:Sweet find dude! I am by no means condemning the old man. After all, I haven't even met him, so I don't know what his situation is. All I know is that he is regularly buying their video/electronic merchandise, and I what I find is either what's left, or what gets put out later on.
I haven't had much luck lately, and my best guess is that he has just beat me to it. Which is, in my opinion, PERFECTLY FAIR, AND NOT WRONG. It sucks, but it's life. After all, I noticed another guy with the sports games I left behind in his hands looking at me enviously. To quote The Game Chasers: "That's just way game chasin' go."
Markup is also pretty key here. Selling off doubles to fund your collecting habits is different than being an asshole and marking them up to higher than market value.
