Video Game Finds

PC MAC Myst Anniversary Collection - $2.00 Thrift Store
Already own the original Myst, Riven and Exile games. This version has Myst upgraded to higher resolution so worth the repurchase.

PC MS Flight Simulator 2004 - $2.00 Thrift Store
Have this one too, the deluxe MS Flight Sim Anniversary Flight Tin Box. Even though it fully installs, nice to have a backup of a vey good sim.

PS2 Syphon Filter Omega Strain - $4.99 Luna Games
No, not two copies but a CIB that even included the Cardboard Sleeve! Not too many PS2 games can be found with an outer liner, so a nice find for me. Oh and the game is pretty good too!

Funkeys DOT - $100-$360$1.00
I saved the best for last, a small figurine for an older PC Mattel Funkeys game that Activision basically copied. The concept of action figure collecting to unlock features for the Skylanders games. No kidding, the strikeout prices are correct based on 2008 EBay auctions. No idea what this is worth now!

This figurine was a 2008 Comic Con exclusive, only 2000 were sold. Unlike a lot of Comic Con exclusives that were later sold at the Mattel Website, this was never released again. Only way to buy one is thru eBay if it can be found or in my case a very very lucky find where a seller did not know what he had. I'll go into more detail on this rarity in my Funkeys Thread.

Found some complete and boxed Game Gear games this weekend:
Sonic Triple Trouble
Earthworm Jim
Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya
Legend of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse - slightly crushed box

All four for alot less than Shining Force goes cart only. All will become trading fodder soon.

I won Baku Baku for the Game Gear sealed for $13 but I'm unsure if I got ripped off or it's really rare. Some say it's worth $100+ being the rarest of the sealed GG games but then I found a few on amazon for $20?

You paid $7 less or 35% less than amazon price. I would call that a deal. Cart prices on gamegear stuff is hilarious. Some people it is cheaper than dirt cause almost no one collects/plays it. Other places want premium because almost no one collects/plays it. Can we start calling this the Sega discount to make fun of the Mario premium?

Onyx that is one of the best falling block games ever made. But the Saturn version is the best.

Picked up a few more Wii games from Gamestop's 50% off sale. Even found a couple more yesterday along with some freebies, the very last day of the sale. :D

Battalion Wars 2 $7.99 $3.59
I have Gamecube Battalion Wars and like it, might as well try the Wii version as well. This even came with the Club Nintendo Registration card and the Battalion Wars 2 tagged tease sheet to buy other Wii games. The game manual bigger then most other games.

Blazing Angels $6.99 $3.14
I held off buying this Flight Sim in the past due to no Classic or Gamecube Controller support. Screw it I'll give the Wiimote Nunchuck combo a shot. At least there is the option of tilt or direct stick control with the Nunchuck.

Mushroom Men $9.99 $4.49
The game I really wanted to try due to the odd theme. I see a little of PS2 Rayman and maybe even PS1 Medieval due to the quirkiness of this game.

Two Guitar Hero Controllers - FREE
Probably the cheapest "Gibson" and "Kramer" I'll ever find.

Found these along with a Wiimote plastic bat/light sabre next to a trash can outside Gamestop. My guess is Gamestop would not buy them from a customer. One guitar is for the Wii and the other takes two batteries with no indicator what system. Maybe a blue tooth for the PS3 or 360 console?

Guitar Hero III Legends Rock - $2.99
Guitar Hero World Tour - $3.99
Both for only three bucks!

I never planned on buying any of the Guitar Hero or Rock Band games that seriously oversaturated the market; the last game series that choked out the PS2. Ah well, an under five dollar investment to see if these are any good. There are a few good songs on there worth a try including Pat Benatar, Fleetwood Mac, Foghat, Heart, Billy Idol, Steve Miller, Ted Nugent and The Rolling Stones. If anything, a nice listen, cheaper then buying a couple compilation CDs. A nice extra was digging thru the pile of Guitar Hero cases, I found two that included the Red Octane Guitar Controller Manuals.

Considering the freebies, I got two Guitar controllers and two games for only $3.00!

if there's no indicator on the guitars, it's for PS2. it's pretty much worthless without the receiver, unfortunately :(
