Not really, you have a system whose original target audience is now hitting their early thirties and have the disposable income to go back and pick up the games they used/wish to own. The general demand is causing a price hike.

...and if we wait a few years, when many of those people will have children, mortgages, spouses, etc., we may see prices fall.

(Personally, I think that there is a speculative bubble supporting a lot of NES and SNES prices right now, and it will be interesting to see what happens when it pops.)

I don't think that either of them will ever be inexpensive, but I see both of them falling back to where they were in 2010 - 2011 (i.e., $100-$150 for Little Samson and $40 - $70 for Wild Guns).

When you think about it, though, all but the very rarest games are not that expensive...at least not in comparison to what other people collect. (My wife collects Arts & Crafts-era furniture and art pottery, and while she certainly does not get a new chair or vase as often as I get a new game, the cost of even inexpesive pieces far exceeds all but the rarest videogames.)

Thats true, and I dont expect it to drop to very low prices. And yea its not expensive comparatively - my wife has horses and for the prices of the farrier to come once, I could buy a good chunk of I am missing on the NES (it is about $100 per horse, and we have eight). Heck a buddy of mine just spent an 8k on getting another car for his live steam train.

Back around 2008 I bought the Earthbound guide for 20 bucks on these forums when someone posted they had some stuff to sell. Crazy isn't it?

I thought this was a hypothetical question, good to know Earthbound is going to get some love. Hopefully it gets released on the 3ds as well.

Without having read through the thread, no simply because not enough people own a Wii U for it to make a difference.

But the price of a Wii u plus the game is less than boxed copies of the game are going for currently.
