For some reason I thought SlayA was already in college...

Reminds me that I need to apply sometime too - I'm a non-matriculated student.

I second this. I took a few psychology classes as electives just because I thought it would be interesting and it actually was very useful in giving me greater insight into my own mental health issues. My advice, in general, is take classes you think you'll enjoy, but don't get so distracted that you forget the reason you're there. If you're interested in journalism, take a couple of electronic media classes alongside traditional journalism classes so you get a more full picture of how the media operates today.

Always keep your options open, and I highly suggest you find an academic adviser you are comfortable with. Also, don't dick around too much when choosing your electives.
Yes, listen, this man speaks truth! I focused my electives into a minor, so while I may have graduated with an English degree, I had something slightly different to consider for those applications towards grad school.

At the same time, it doesn't hurt to dick around a little. I took Bowling in lieu of Swimming...and it was awesome.

If you have the ability, you might want to switch to your news channel of choice. They've arrested someone for the bombings. They haven't revealed who yet, but they identified someone from security footage who was apparently seen dropping off one of the bombs in the video and arrested him a little while ago. I sincerely hope they got the right guy, cause if they say he did it and then it turns out he didn't, they'll have so much egg on their face it won't even be funny. We'll know more at 5 when they do a news conference.

EDIT: The reporters jumped the gun it seems. The police apparently have identified the person on the tape, but no one's been taken into custody yet. I guess that's what happens in a case like this. I saw the same thing on Monday. I can't really blame them though. We all want the guy to be caught, so if they think they have news, they'll run with it and backpedal later if need be.

If nothing else, take Constitutional Law. That way you'll be informed about how the system works. I personally think it's a class that should be absolutely mandatory.

Which 5? There's four of them in the continental United States.

Apparently multiple Congresspeople and the President received suspicious packages and mail possibly laced with Ricin on the same day. Congresspeople have said the police do have a suspect in that case. May not be related at all, but I figured I would make a note of it.

Maybe i'm in the minority, but I always liked getting my news from Rummy.

Times like these he would let us know: there are things we know, there are things we don't know, and there are things we know we don't know. I think this is one of those times. Let's just wait and see rather than guessing which news blog or other report actually has legit information.
