Do they exist? Of course, but I'm curious as to what you all find are exciting to watch, but not play, and what prevents said games from being enjoyable? Perhaps the controls are obtrusive or it's too difficult.
If I could give an example, I find bullet hell games (pretty much any) to be extremely entertaining to watch, but I don't think I could ever sit down and enjoy learning one. I suppose difficulty is an easy deterrent, but hopefully you all have some more interesting reasons to state than a learning curve.

I think any game with fantastic graphics but average gameplay qualifies (e.g. Jungle Book for Sega Genesis).

I suppose speedruns of games like Spelunker count. But that's it

I've been playing Odin Sphere - a game with a fantastic story, amazing graphics, awesome soundtrack... and TERRIBLE GAMEPLAY.
That one might be more fun to watch.

I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.

IMO anything that's mostly QTE for the fights (I think Spider Man turned me off of those the most) - I like to be in control of the action, not just press some random buttons to keep watching the eye candy. FMV games are essentially those as well, but have even less gameplay.

I'd watch an Uncharted film. But I don't really enjoy playing them.

To reiterate my opinion from another thread:
Shadow of the Colossus isn't all that great to play. It has a terrible floaty camera that never works no matter what sensitivity you set it too. In addition, the fake HDR means that whenever you do manage to get the camera to work, the brightness suddenly peaks and you can't see anything at all.

Any game that looks interesting, but isn't fun to play. I suppose most WRPGs would fit this category for me. I remember hating the Might & Magic series, but there was a thread where some dude blogged about his trip through the game and I found it quite entertaining.

The Guilty Gear series (and pretty much every other game by Arc System Works) is pretty flashy, wild, and chaotic to watch, but the gameplay is too extreme for my likings. I pretty much admire the character designs, art style, and even the music better than the gameplay of those games.
