I went through all the suggestions so far. Loved the Exidy games, such oddities! Plus there were a load of other games that I had never heard of. Thanks for the list so far guys!

Funny how some games have a player at the bottom and others are in first person. I guess it comes down to the controls on the system you're playing on.

Thanks for these extra ones, I'm pretty sure there was a Spinal Breakers in a local arcade when I was growing up as it seems so familiar!

Am I the only person who thought that the arcade version of Revolution X was a lot of (cheesy) fun?
I came into this thread just to bring up Revolution-X.

My local movie theater used to have this. For how cheesy and terrible it was, I had a lot of fun playing it. I still really wish they were able to make the sequel featuring Public Enemy.
Also, Gumshoe, which is my personal favorite NES Zapper game, is a side scroller where you also have to protect a character by shooting projectiles that might hit him and shooting him to make him jump. I've never seen another light gun game like Gumshoe
Didn't even think of this as fitting the bill when I opened the thread. This is probably my favorite NES game. It's too bad no one else utilized the idea (even if it is a pretty ridiculous control scheme) because it was way too much fun.

Yep, Punisher on the NES.
Wait, you can use the light-gun on The Punisher?

As far as I know, you can't.

Spinal Breakers was a good suggestion too.
