Why did you think it was shitty? The original Tron is one of my all time favorite movies and I thought the sequel was awesome and the tv series was good too.
I don't care for the original and I hate how Daft Punk have gotten famous by ripping off Kanye West.
The new TRON film was basically DAFT PUNK, THE MOVIE.
edit* Dish, you were joking right? Kanye West got famous for ripping off other artists.

Well, there are plenty of "After Earth's Armageddon" sci-fi movies coming out this Summer that don't involve Morgan Freeman explaining the movie to you and a thousand close-ups of Tom Cruise's face.
Morgan Freeman is an upside, but Tom Cruise's face is a downside.
Tough choice.

I'm much more interested in Elysium, but I'd watch Oblivion. I didn't see the new Tron movie.
Between the two, I'm more interested in Oblivion! Some of the shots in the trailer remind me of The Time Machine, with the morlocks hunting. Even if it is in no way related, the thought intrigued me.

Whoa, whoa, hey now. Yo noise, I'm really happy for you to bring up that point, and I'mma let you finish, but the Beastie Boys had some of the greatest samples of all time.

Yeah "reminiscent of" is one of the reasons I want to see Elysium, it looks a ton like District 9, which I loved. It also contains Sharlto Copley, who I think is a fantastic actor. Which, The Time Machine are you referring to? The book, the 60s movie, or the early 2000s movie? The latest one with Guy Pearce wasn't that great IMO, despite having Guy Pearce in it.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
I mean the 60s one, where the morlocks were large blue creatures with glowing eyes coming out of the shadows in the blue caverns. I actually haven't seen the latest one. Never got around to it, and I consider the older one to be a classic.
I liked the later Time Machine movie just fine. Good production values, cool looking sets, and it followed the story well. It doesn't replace the original, but that's not a reason to not watch it.
