Huh, I didn't know that. I really liked Cyborg as a kid, too. I haven't seen as an adult, though.Retrodude wrote:Fun Fact!: Frank Langella said in an interview once that out of all the roles he's played, Skeletor was his favorite. Also, they had planned on doing a sequel, but Mattel raised the licensing fee beyond what they could afford, so the costumes and sets they'd already paid for were used for the film Cyborg instead.

Think GOLDENEYE hasn't aged worse than SNL?

Good God. This movie is to cinema what tornadoes are to trailer parks; complete havoc. Entertaining, but a huge mess.

I don't understand what's wrong with it. It seems like a typical Bond scene.Luke wrote:Think GOLDENEYE hasn't aged worse than SNL?

Every non-orchestral backed scene makes Goldeneye seem like a shitty 50's drive-in/MST3K reviewable buck flick.BurningDoom wrote:I don't understand what's wrong with it. It seems like a typical Bond scene.Luke wrote:Think GOLDENEYE hasn't aged worse than SNL?

For certain 007 movies take a lot of liberties, but oh Lord that clip looks like something out of a poorly written episode of Hawaii 5-0 and not a high budget franchise film.

If you say so. It seemed fine to me. Especially Famke Jenssen.Luke wrote:Every non-orchestral backed scene makes Goldeneye seem like a shitty 50's drive-in/MST3K reviewable buck flick.BurningDoom wrote:I don't understand what's wrong with it. Re: What was the last movie you've seen?

Finally saw The Hunger Games, it was a pretty good movie. Not one of the best I've ever seen, but I can certainly see why it garnered a lot of attention. I like the subdued action sequences. They always felt like they were there to serve the story, rather than the main attraction. I like that the movie leaves you with some questions too, particularly the last scene, which seems like a set up for a sequel. I also love the parallels between the horrible audience watching The Hunger Games in the movie and we the real life people watching this movie and similarly enjoying the horrible stuff we are seeing as a piece of entertainment.
I know people have criticized the movie for taking its ideas from other sources. Fair enough, but the material is handled well here. Jennifer Lawrence is awesome in this, and I'm finding myself enjoying just about every role I see Woody Harrelson in these days. He seemed an odd choice to me for this role, but he played it well

Operation Condor 2: The Armour of the Gods
Even with the goofy dubbing and the grainy hidef detail I wasn't exactly enamoured by this 1986 JC flick. It did feature some nice filming locations and the usual stunts so all-in-all it was an entertaining waste of time.

G I Joe: Retaliation
Got a free ticket to this when i picked up a blu ray of the first movie. Enjoyed it a bit more than the first, but then I was one of the few people that actually liked Rise of Cobra.
I was a bit confused as to why the trailers didn't seem to mention anyone but the Rock, and about 30 minuets in you see why.
With the exception of the ending, they did almost nothing to really tie the two movies together. Almost all the original joes are gone. Only Snake Eyes and Duke remain. They don't even bother telling us what became of Heavy Duty, Scarlet, or Ripcord.
Why is Storm Shadow alive?
Overall, if you don't think about the plot holes too much its a enjoyably fun ride. Disposable, but fun.
