And a stone fire pit is way more attractive if you have the room.fastbilly1 wrote: And while I would love a fancy metal firepit, free is free...
Metal fire pits should come with a can of Rust-oleum as you really need to prep the pit at least once a year. Ours has some copper on it as well, but with care it has aged well.
If I stay in NC, I plan on knocking down our deck and replacing it with a brick patio, which would allow for a stone fire pit. But for fart's sake, big projects around the house seem to take years to complete.

I hear that. Id love to stone in a section of my backyard that grass wont grow in because it is too shady and gets muddy. My wife is firmly against it. Its a shame to because these things:Luke wrote:If I stay in NC, I plan on knocking down our deck and replacing it with a brick patio, which would allow for a stone fire pit. Are made of old car tires, feel great on bare feet, and are just pretty in the shade. Granted I would need about 50 of them and need a new fence alot more than these.

Send Texas some, please! We're planning a camping trip in a couple weeks and the park is under a burn ban. Help!

It's above freezing and there's only just over a foot of snow left on the ground! Spring is in the air! ...I wish I was kidding.

I leave friend's house at roughly 11:30ish, get to the train station around 11:50. Train station closed. I walk then to the next one, about 5 minutes away. After paying, I was told that station was now closed - I had just missed the last train there. Instead of walking out and across and thus having to take the train uptown before back downtown, I walk to the next downtown station, but was made to pay again. It's now 12:30. Luckily there's a train there. I take it, only a second too late realizing that it was an uptown. Well, fuck. I just miss the train at the uptown stop. I wait 25 minutes for a train to finally come. It takes almost an hour to get home. Fuck the MTA. Yesterday was a wasted day.

Smiles: Packed day.
Woke up around 5-ish, completed all the work I needed to by around 7am. Then I watched sportscenter and goofed around for a while.
Should be leaving for our local art museum as soon as my wife gets ready. After that we'll have lunch, take a stroll on campus, and then I'm taking her to see THE EVIL DEAD. I'm hoping the theater is jam packed, and that at least one member of the audience "gets" my Stephen King Rules t-shirt reference (not holding my breath on that one). I think my wife will enjoy EVIL DEAD, if only because it will scare the socks off of her.
Speaking of, for some reason my wife wants to channel her inner Anne Hathaway:

After the matinee we'll start on dinner, eat, clean up, and then go out with friends for drinks. There's one bar in my city that now serves Goose Island on tap, and I can't wait to tap that tap.
Should turn out to be a wonderful start to the weekend.
