This is common knowledge amongst RPG and retro gamers. There's two things to blame: publishers and Xbox. Three if you count casual

Ehh not commom knowledge. I loved Mass Effect, DA:O, and Fallout 3. I also love the old PC RPGs as well.

Agreed. NSMBU's level design is extremely well done.

I don't really understand the point of having a thread to share your odd/unpopular/personal gaming opinions just to then have everyone else break it down point by point and try to refute them.

I understand discussing someone else's opinions, but trying to say they're wrong? That's why they're opinions. No one's opinion is technically wrong.

Anyway, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks NSMBU is a genius game. I liked the other NSMB games as well, but to me U was the first one to really nail what the original series had done on the NES.

Here's some more Nintendo fodder

-The Nintendo console has been my least favorite major release console of the last 3 generations. I generally only like a handful of games from each release. The only exception would be that I prefer the Gamecube over the Dreamcast.

-Furthermore, I have the SNES and the Genesis (especially including the Sega Cd) at about even.

-The DS is my favorite Nintendo platform since the SNES

If everyone just agreed and didn't refute, it would be a very boring thread/discussion.

- The Turbo CD library is superior to the Sega CD library (yes I am including imports when I say this).

Also, I agree with Mustang. DS is the second best Nintendo console. So many JRPGs!

I think Final Fantasy 8 is the worst game in the main series and including the sequels (X-2 and XIII-2) Prequels (Crisis Core) and FFXIV's launch.

There is nothing redeeming about that game. Nothing.

This is a forum. Discussion is the point, and that is especially true on this thread. As I wrote earlier, this thread is great because is allows us to gain different perspectives on commonly-held opinions or to find other members who share our "unpopular" views. In any event, breaking down member's opinions point-by-point has been happening since the first page of this thread, and I expect it to continue. Finally, if you would like more elaborate responses to your opinions you should include a brief statement indicating why you hold them. The opinion, "The PSX is overrated" only merits a curt response. Writing "The PSX is overrated because..." justifies more discussion.

(Also...we did not refute all of your opinions. I think you and I would both agree that Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons are the best top-down 2D Zelda games. :D )
