An excellent Christopher Guest/Eugene Levy mockumentary about folk singing. If you like SpinalTap and want more of similar, Mighty Wind is the second best. And like the Tap the songs get stuck in your head. But unlike Tap they are just catchy and upbeat.
I thought Best in Show was funnier than A Mighty Wind, but I do love AMW.
*funtip: The woman having sex in the other motel room in that scene with Eugene Levy was voiced by Chris Guest.

Seriously though you didn't like the movie? I thought it was awesome wanted to watch it again right after I finished it.

Have to agree with Chris on this one. It didn't bore the shit out of me, but the movie took itself way too seriously. Very forgettable.elmagicochrisg wrote: Sorry, it bored the shit out of me.

I watched Shaolin today. It was alright. Not really leaning one way or another.

It was a beautiful looking movie for sure, but the story was a mess. There were many nice moments, but as a whole it was kind of silly and failed to be poignant as they obviously intended. I felt very much like I did after watching the latter 2 Matrix movies. Visually dazzled, but ultimately disappointed.flex wood wrote:User blocked.elmagicochrisg wrote:CloudAtlas

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Just got back from vacation. It rains a lot in Hilo, so I had time to sit back with a couple movies in the evening while hanging out with my stepbrother.
Lucky Number Slevin
Entertaining, but I saw all the plot twists coming. This movie felt more like a wanna-be Guy Ritchie film that just couldn't live up to his works like Snatch and RocknRolla. I'm a little upset, as I like everyone in the movie, and that is the cutest Lucy Liu I have ever seen.
Dredd
Whoa, now THAT is an action movie. It's violent, brutal, and entirely unflinching to go full meat grinder on Dredd's enemies. And it is exactly now a Judge Dredd movie should be: Dredd walks in, dispenses justice, leaves. No taking off the mask. No incessant talking. Just Dredd passing verdicts and executing penalties.
The Sting
Such a great movie. I made my stepbrother watch this, since he had never seen it. It felt a bit slow to him(he criticized his ADD more than the film for that though), but when it all wrapped up in the end, his jaw hit the floor and he declared it amazing. If you have never seen this movie, go do it. Now. Don't walk, run. Why are you still reading this? Go watch The Sting!

Pretty great group of movies.
THE STING's soundtrack is worth a few listens too.

The last 45 minutes of Candyman 3. I haven't seen any of the others and had no idea what was going on. It probably didn't matter. It was terrible. But there's something nostalgic about watching a crappy 1990s horror movie that happens to be on tv in the middle of the night.
