Just noticed this earlier. Think that was intentional? Sure does make it easy to store and display DS games in an old NES storage unit.

I noticed this myself actually a long time ago. Didn't really think anything of it though.

Try placing a CD jewel case next to them.

I'm now going to store loose DS games inside of NES carts.

CD cases are a little longer and much narrower. The DS and NES stuff pretty much have the same dimensions.

Interesting that both the DS case and NES Carts are the same size. This might be useful in searching shelves designed for DS cases to use for NES carts. Probably not common since most DS storage is for just the game carts though.

I have spot for my NES carts under the table in a lower shelf. Too short to stack the carts sideways, so they sit on top of each other about five high. It is always a hassle dragging out one NES cart under the other four. Most drawers would not fit, so started looking into a storage box of sorts and came up with another bit of trivia.

Ever notice two NES carts side by side are the same width as standard ruled paper?
I spotted a nice lacquered wood box with a felt bottom designed to hold a stack of legal sized papers. This works great as a drag out drawer. The carts with black outer sleeves fit perfect with two across on each side making four stacks all sitting flat. There is a gap between the two rows which is just enough room for a couple of NES GamePads. Maybe a letter paper sized box might be just right as long as there is a little gap to fish out a cart?
