Kinda looks like Viewtiful Joe meets Pikmin. Should be lots of fun.

I hope Nintendo gets their act together for E3. I'd like for them to showcase some awesome first and third party games (with set release dates) and maybe even a price drop.
I'm still incredibly skeptical of the system's quality. If they can make the Wii U library anything like the GameCube's I'd be all over it. A repeat of the Wii library is going to keep me very, very far away.

Is that Dragon Quest MMO coming out here? Wouldn't mind trying it. I just want a release date for The Wonderful 101. Other than that I have moved most of my gaming to 3DS and Vita

I know many of y'all don't care much about this kind of thing becasue you just want to play first party titles for the most part, but Wii U sales are shit and they need more good news about games people like for people to want to buy one. There's not a lot of reason for optimism, it seems.

The only reason I'm bummed that more 3rd parties wont support the WiiU is because of the inherent improvement in interface the gamepad can provide, which makes it about the only console I see it worth buying multiplatform games for over my PC.dsheinem wrote:http://kotaku.com/dont-expect-the-next- ... -461567682

Other companies put their tech money into graphics, Nintendo has put it into interface design. I guess some developers don't see the value of that. I thought the Wii's focus on motion controls was pretty gimmicky and lacked long lasting appeal. I can see the gamepad having much more practical application in the future.
On the other hand, the WiiU is shaping up to be an awesome indie game machine. It appears Nintendo is really pushing and is in turn receiving support on that end which is nice.
Still, I feel it's a bit too early to call lots of doom on the WiiU. After E3 I think we'll be able to tell if the writing is on the wall or not.
That said, looking forward to playing both Injustice and the enhanced Deus Ex on my WiiU. It's been the first console I've really gotten into in a long time, which is really refreshing. Haven't been so into modern console gaming since the 360 first came out when I didn't have a decent PC.
Oh, and the Miiverse app/website is coming in May: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013- ... nes-in-may
Older. Not wiser.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
I expect it to be a successful console. It will not sell as well as the Wii. Maybe it won't even sell as well as the next Xbox or PS4. Who knows? But it'll be profitable for Nintendo regardless.

Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
All this "this isn't coming out on Wii U" news is ... EA not publishing titles on the system if anyone didn't notice. Which is something people were talking about a bit prior to the system actually launching. (EA pulling out support because of online decisions from Nintendo, supposedly, to not exclusively use Origin)
Battlefield 4, Dragon's Age, now Mass Effect ... All EA owned and published properties ... why are people surprised?
It sort of seems like ... studios who want to put stuff out on the system can at EA ... but there's no sort of push by the publisher to get stuff on it. And I don't think that's because they don't see an opportunity there.

Long as they're not wanting to use the company's in-house 3D engine I guess. As the article points out, they're all titles projected to use the upcoming Frostbite 3 engine.Cronozilla wrote: Battlefield 4, Dragon's Age, now Mass Effect ... EA published launch titles for the system. Mass Effect 3, Madden, etc that were based on older tech.
The article given is more about their next-gen engine not being ported to the Wii U. While that may be a matter of politics, the Wii U's specs are simply not up to par with the PS4 or next XBox. Presumably, Frostbite 3 is being designed for that level hardware, not 360/PS3 level, which is more where the Wii U is.
Not that it has seemed like much of a question since we saw the Wii U's specs, but the "history repeating" angle of NIntendo's system not being on the same level for multi-platform games is just getting seeming more and more to be the case.
