Dood, this was my experience EXACTLY.
We also had a yard to take care of. When we first got the place, I expressed my concern for not having a lawn-mower or weed-eater to take care of it. He boasted "My family has a lawn care business, I'll take care of the yard". Guess what NEVER happened? We almost got evicted, because every week he said "I'll take care of it". Eventually I drove an hour to my dad's house to borrow his lawn-mower, an hour back to mow the lawn, then had to bring it back to my dad again.

And for those pictures/videos? We only did it when we were ready to leave, because we knew he wouldn't get it either...

In-fact, the guy left a ton of shit behind when we moved out because he didn't feel like cleaning it up.

That's completely unacceptable. You're going to end up with maggots in your sink if that keeps up.

His room, his business, but commonly shared areas need to be kept up to a certain degree. You really need to hold a pow wow with this guy and let him know it isn't just about keeping things clean, it's that by not cleaning up he is directly disrespecting you.

That or schedule a surprise visit from his parents so they can see his lack of hygiene. Yup, I said it; play the Mom card.

Frown: My dog Ripley woke me up at 4am to go outside, and I've been awake since.

Smile: Scared my wife silly by putting a rubber snake in her panty drawer. That rubber snake gets her every time.

The bad thing is that he did lose his mom like 8 years ago, so maybe that has something to do with it a bit. I don't know if his dad tolerated this or not and did all the cleaning himself when they lived together, but I and I can't imagine anyone else in the world would put up with this. It's as you said Luke, I"m just feeling outright insulted at this point. Especially when I got out of the shower this morning after he left, only to see rice spilled across the stove top and the sinks continuing to pile up. I'm really trying to cool down but he's not making it easy and I might have to rip him a new one tonight.

Ughhhh...

@jinx: Yeah he's totally that kind of person too. There's been several times where I suggest we need more bowls, etc, and he always tries to come up with good ideas like I'll get this, he gets that. He never does. 6 months later he still hasn't gotten a wireless adapter or a TV stand, when I've lost track of how many times he's said he would take care of it. Among many other things, so he's very much the type that won't take any action upon his talking.

@Hazerd: He's always been very stable and trusting with money, which is a big thing so that's good... but yeah. I could probably get by on my own but I wouldn't be able to have much fun on the side, so I'm doing it for financial reasons right now. Even now my savings account seems to be stalled which kind of sucks, not putting much into it at all since I moved.

Check this store out, I'll probably get the X2 one next:

The print quality is outstanding on these, was pretty surprised. I wish the Super Metroid selections were a bit better, I might message them about that.

You should watch Richard Linklater's Bernie. It is an excellent movie, and Jack Black's performance is amazing. It was available for streamintg on Netflix, but I am not sure it is up any more. In any event, it is definitely worht tracking down.

Also, Xeogred, you have a nice, well-organized collection, and it is time for you to find a new roommate (i.e., either your current roommate has to go or you have to move out). It will be a pain in the ass, but it is the only way that you are going to resolve this situation.

I definitely feel you bro...
I'm really REALLY quiet in real life. I hate drama and avoid confrontation at all costs. It took all my strength to confront him, but it HAD to be done. I was actually kind of freaked out, so my girlfriend had one of her friends over just in-case he lost his shit. Which he did, but he left before hand so there wasn't any damage to the house.

On a side note. Those are some nice prints.
I've been meaning to get more retro decor around our apartment.

You evil bastard. Every time my mom used to see a little snake in the back garden, she would scream bloody murder. Thanks for the April fools idea!

haha I used to do that to my mom at the grocery store. Once I put a rubber snake on her shoulder, and she didn't notice for a few minutes. But once she noticed, she freaked, screamed, grabbed the 'snake' by the head and sort of whipped it to the floor. My face got in the way and I had a red mark on my face for the rest of the day, lol. Served me right I guess.

Snake in the panty drawer.... Sounds like the punchline to a bad joke.

I knew that was coming sooner or later.

I am quite frolicsome when it comes to pranks, and that snake has made for some good ones. Snake in the drawer got a bigger reaction than snake in the mail box. Now if only I could get my hands on a small rubber mouse...
