Nice I got my VFR lisence in highschool....
My Sister soloed on her 15th birthday, which I still find to be awesome. I flew a few times, but never attempted to receive a license. I really should have.
Smile: Reflecting on the weekend.
Frown: The inevitable trip to the in-laws for Easter weekend. Love the family, hate that the food is always cold but for some reason the thermostat is set to 80. Seriously, they should just plate lunch meat instead of cooking a ham and letting it set out for a few hours.
More flabbergasted and irritated than 'ticked': My coworker is a cool guy. He and I are into several similar things, most notably guns. In fact he's the one that finally got me into guns in the first place. He's funny, cool to hang out/work with and a decent human being.
But he doesn't know comedy or good movies for shit. Here are a few examples:
THREE AMIGOS: It was dumb. Why would they do that, they're actors.
JERRY LEWIS MOVIES: He was annoying and I didnt like his voice that he did.
ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT: Totally fucking sucked. It made no sense. It was stupid.
FRINGE: I couldn't get into it.
The Marx Bros Movies: theyre old and stupid. Not funny.
But on the other hand:
HANGOVER II: Epic hilarity.
YEAR ONE: It was awesome
EPIC/DISASTER/SPOOF MOVIES: Great stuff.
What the hell is wrong with this guy? I get that not everyone liked Napoleon Dynamite or Gentlemen Broncos, and I'm not saying they're some higher level of comedy that 'he just doesn't get', but they are funny movies. It's like he thinks there can only be one type of comedic movie. And unfortunately the one type of comedy he prefers is the crap of the bunch.
I watched a BBC documentary on stupidity recently and one of the clips that I thought was rather telling was Adam Sandler flat out admitting that you have to be a moron to enjoy his movies and he makes his movies for idiots specifically. I've been saying that for years.
I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.

Procuring a copy of Half-Life for next month's Together Retro -
Found and purchased a complete, boxed copy of GOTY Edition -- $14 & free ship on eBay
Finding the same damn game (jewel case only) for $3 at Goodwill today
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
(although this boxed copy is complete right down to the original registration cards, I would NOT have expected to find the same exact game and edition at Goodwill)

As a Sandler fan, you sparked my curiosity. I just watched the documentary on youtube and he didn't say that whatsoever.
What he said was that he's been interviewed by various magazines where he's revealed intimate details about himself, only to be described as a buffoon in the articles. He later adds that he approaches his roles trying to make the funniest movies possible; not trying to portray a lovable schmuck every time.
Also, if you're labeling people as idiots after watching that documentary, then I think you may have missed the message entirely.
I misremembered (honest!). Maybe he didn't say those exact words, but the implication is definitely there that he knows exactly what he's doing ("stupidity sells") and I can say completely truthfully that I have met A LOT of Adam Sandler fans who are quite the dim bulbs. I'm conviced this is not a coincidence.
And I don't label people idiots after seeing that, but the whole show pretty much confirms what I've always thought about humanity as a whole getting dumber and dumber by the year. The worst part is I've lost track of the number of times I've been called a snob because I hate brainless, groan-inducing comedies like the ones Will Ferrell makes (which, unfortunately, make up 99 % of all comedy films made today) and I'm not afraid to say so. Apparently it's snobbish to prefer movies/tv shows/whatever that don't completely insult my intelligence.
I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.

I think its sad that Punch Drunk Love did so poorly. Sandler really put himself out there with that one, and I thought it was a fantastic move, and didn't try to sell itself on stupidity whatsoever.
