Cast iron is virtually non-existent here in Belgium, so I ordered mine from the UK. Only ones I found where I live were from Le Creuset and cost over €100 a piece. Which is a total rip-off for a cast iron pan if you ask me. On top of that they had wooden handles, unlike the Victors I bought...

Still need to replace my wok. But I think I'd like that one to be coated with enamel on the inside. Seems like the better surface for a wok. I could be wrong though...
I have owned several different types of cast iron, and - in my opinion - Griswold tops all of them. Unfortunately, the company went out of business 55 years ago...so, you can only buy the pans in antique stores (or on eBay if you are desperate). I also do not know if they were sold in Europe (and- since some people collect Griswold cast iron like we collect video games - the prices are all over the place).

That said, I also have a Le Creuset cast iron wok, and that thing is a beast. My wife and I did not think we would get a tremendous amount of use out of it, but it has become one of our "go to" pieces of cookware. It does not have an enamel coating (and it is not as well seasoned as our Griswold pans); so, it generally requires a little more cleaning than our other pieces of cast iron. It is getting better though, and it retains heat wonderfully.

Also...if you are looking for a relatively inexpensive alternative to Le Creuset, you may want to seek out Descoware. It was Julia Child's cookware of choice, and it should be widely available in Belgium. That said, the company - like Griswold - has been defunct for some time. (It is widely acknowledged that Le Creuset purchased and closed Descoware because it produced a superior product.) Accordingly, you will have to search antique stores and eBay to find it.

Finally, I do not think that you should be using olive oil to season you cast iron. (The smoke point for olive oil is too low, and you may find that if you continue seasoning with that oil, you will get a lot of smoke and "blackening" when you cook at high temperatures.) I think that you would be better off with peanut or vegetable oil.

It's basically a show about a group of high-school misfits who come together and form their school's glee club, and along the way face opposition from a pseudo-sociopathic cheerleading coach, a host of various rival show choirs, and even their own crises... not to mention the majority of their own classmates ready to toss slushies in their faces.

Think of them as the X-Men of fictional show choirs, battling a world that for the most part welcomes them with bigotry and misunderstanding, while still trying to find their place in the world.

Oh, and one of their stars, Harry Shum Jr, is currently set to appear in the second series of the Mortal Kombat: Legacy webseries as Bi-Han (aka the elder Sub-Zero/Noob Saibot). For those who don't know, this will reunite Shum with the same man that directed the Glee 3D Concert movie (which is mostly a concert based around the songs from the first two seasons).

Also, the cheerleading coach is played by the bad-ass space marine from Wreck-It Ralph.

I hate Glee. It has to be the most poorly written, horribly acted show on TV hands down. If you tune in for the music, that's fine, but even that is terrible most of the time. But that's hollywood for you. They take a bad movie (High School Musical), make an even worse ripoff (and an extremely blatent one at that) and somehow, they make tons of money and get great ratings. Seriously, if someone tells me completely unironically that Glee is their favorite show ever (which some people have), I automatically deduct 100 IQ points (this is justified because the same folks who tell me that Glee is their favorite show also tell me that Twilight is their favorite movie and we all know what a POS that is). I don't mean to be excessively negative, but it really aggravates me when I see something be super mega successful when it doesn't deserve it.

I don't like the show myself, but why doesn't it deserve its success? It's not "Paris Hilton... The Show". People bust their humps to provide a product that obviously has quite the following. Finding an audience isn't easy, and GLEE not only found an audience, the show has left them wanting more.

Speaking of singing...

Smile: Looking forward to a karaoke party tonight and looking forward to the weekend in general. Plus, going to see The Croods later today.

I'm looking forward to The Croods for two reasons:

A. It's directed by Chris Sanders and I'm a big fan of his.

and

B. The movie was originally conceived by John Cleese, so even if the storyline changed extensively (which I'm sure it did), there should be enough of his comedic influence left in it to make it good.

Oh I know what it's about and I do love Jane Lynch, shes awesome in the Chris Guest mockumentaries.

I just don't see the appeal for Glee. Ive watched a few episodes and its just... ugh.

Does anyone else see the irony in this statement? :-P

Give my best to everyone!

Smile: I'm going to double post this in the movie thread as well, but I made a semi-decent Monster Squad inspired t-shirt.

And the shirt is a medium. Looks blimpish in the pic.

Nice. Now Luke, go look at the General Gaming board for some important news from Capcom.

Hilarious. I logged into my gmail account an immediately I had three friends start a chat with "WOO-HOO!". Obvious joke of course, but damned if I didn't understand what they were referring to .
