2013 Texas Pinball Festival pics

Post by Redline9 »

Last weekend, I went to the Texas Pinball Festival in Dallas held at the impressive Hilton Anatole hotel. The festival was awesome with plenty of machines and a great vibe. The Hilton Anatole hotel was really luxurious and it boasts the largest collection of fine art and antiques in an American hotel. Most of the art scattered throughout the hotel was Asian but there was also other different pieces like a giant, painted chunk of the Berlin Wall. The hotel was massive with several large open spaces and various restaurants and shops inside the hotel. The "atrium" area featured a reflecting pool and a light sculpture suspended above it.

Wow, that takes me back. My family used to spend one weekend at the Anatole every year in August. My father would drag us along to attend the massive food and grocery convention.

The hotel has changed owners many times over the years. I think it was owned by Loews when we stayed there.

I had to look up that Hulk machine. I played it about 20 years ago, but it was the mass produced version. Interesting to see System 80 (nearly) make its debut in '79.

Oh man I forgot about that, though I don't think I would have been able to make it anyway. Looks like it must have been a blast. :D
