As far as im concerned CoD is the same as Madden
Hey now, what's wrong with Madden? It's a legitimate means of offering updated rosters and play mechanics for fans of football that reflects potential and current rules adjustments and does so in an environment that continues to improve visually and auditorially over time, offering fans a means of escape and allowing them to interact in a competitive simulation that interests them, either in person or online.

I really think that the hate for Madden is misplaced.

Hatta wrote:No. The cohort that CoD appeals to has always been devoid of brains.
Hatta wrote:My post was not intended to imply that if you play CoD that you're not smart. But that there's a large fraction of dudebros who play it, and if it weren't for CoD they'd be watching sports or drinking at bars or whatever else it is dudebros do.
So you are implying that "dudebros", or people that enjoy drinking at bars and watching sports, which are the apparent cohort that CoD appeals to, are devoid of brains.

I'm curious, do you also judge large groups of people based on their race or religion?

If this was an arguement over whether Mega Man 2 was better than Mega Man 3, then I could see your concern for it escalating. However, the comment that was made, before an arguement even began, was ignorant and prejudice, and I don't think the flaw here is my calling it out for what it was.

There's a difference. He's equating playing CoD to shooting bottle rockets out of your ass or watching Jersey Shore. There's a huge difference between being a fan of some dumb product and being judged on that (NB: I'm not actually condoning Hatta's judgment) and judging someone because they're born black or female or whatever.

Also, MM2 > MM3.

Yes, calling a large demographic of people devoid of brains because of the style of entertainment they happen to enjoy, and then assuming that that group of people is directly related to those that happen to enjoy beer and sports, thus implying that those that enjoy sports and beer are also devoid of brains, is different from judging them based on skin color or sex.

But no, I would not call it a HUGE difference, just a more acceptible form of prejudice, since no wars were fought over the rights to enjoy a style of entertainment without prejudice. A huge difference would be if he stated that he liked pitbulls, and I then called him out as a murderer.

However, my intention wasn't to split hairs on the different styles or levels of prejudice, I just took a bit of offense to the quality of that post, and the subsequent post just made things worse. I'll stop cluttering the thread.

That said, you are obviously a dumb, blind fool if you like MM2 more than MM3.

That's a valid question. How come NHL, NBA and FIFA&PES don't get the same hate as Madden? Less obnoxious fans?
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box
