What RPG are you playing right now?

How long is Ys Seven? And how long are Ys games in general?

Ys Seven is about 25 hours, as I recall. It's the longest Ys game by far. Ys I takes like six hours.

And Ys III for the SNES didn't really take much longer than that, though I couldn't say anything about the rest of the series.

That's right - I, II, and III are all really short. You can beat each one in a day's time if you're really motivated. Books I and II are generally packaged together on one cart/CD so they feel like one single game. In fact, on the Turbo CD version you have to finish Book I before playing Book II - on the DS/PSP you can simply select Book II from the title screen.

None of the Ys games are really that long - another reason why it's my favorite RPG series.

Great! I wish there were more shorter RPGs. I loved Persona 4 Golden, but generally id rather spend 20 - 30 hours. Maybe 40. And not 80.

How so long? I managed to do everything except 3 or 4 fetch quests and level up to around lvl95 in about 78-80 hours. But I fudged the social links and only maxed a good half of them. ugh.

I think you're better at the game or maybe skipped more dialog then me? I've maxed a good number of Social Links though. Do you know if you went on to the "good ending" or "true ending" though?

True ending. I actually got all the endings, but the bad endings are pointless. Not even worth pursuing.

I'm playing Dragon Warrior on the GBC. So far, the game is fairly enjoyable, but damn does it lack direction. I have about 2 hours into the game, and have accomplished nothing but leveling and buying gear. I did find a cave, and wandered around it for a bit picking up a few items, but if there was anything important in there, I sure as hell could not find it.

Am I just terrible at this game, or is constant feeling of confusion the norm?

I'd use a walkthrough to avoid frustration, personally. There's very little direction in the early games. You know you've wandered into the "wrong" area when you encounter enemies that can wipe the floor with you.
