Warcraft 3 (Human campaign). It's just epic as hell. And the level of detail in that cutscene is amazing, it looks almost like real life, and this is a game released back in 2002! Besides Tekken 2&3 intros, this is the only game that has ever really amazed me with it's cutscene graphics.
Pitfall the Mayan Adventure The protagonist is the son of protagonist of the Atari 2600 game Pitfall
Ultima V An appropriate and thought provoking ending to one of the greatest RPGs of all time
Half Life 2. Half Life also had a great ending (the HL2 ending refers to that; "Rather than offer you the illusion of free choice, I will take the liberty of choosing for you")
Planescape Torment nothing special really, it was just a very emotional and a well built ending for an epic adventure.
Portal. I think the 17,3 million views speak for themselves. It was just so unexpected to hear a catchy song like that after the game was over.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

Fire Emblem: Awakening

Here's a good Kotaku article on why that is awesome: http://kotaku.com/5986788/fire-emblem-a ... and-finale

Uncharted 3 also comes to mind. Loved the end to that series.

Half Life 2 E2 was gut-wrenching in a good, single tear sorta way

Super Mario RPG
Would wake up every morning before school in 1996-1997 just to beat Smithy and watch the ending, followed by Sonic The Hedgehog cartoon and Garfield and friends.

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Very epic happy ending, thats all i got to say.

Final Fantasy 6
Nice long 30 minute ending, not sure how other Final Fantasies measure up as ive only beaten 6

Feel like it's hard to find games with good endings beyond credits rolling, game endings should be long, and cinematic.

Well if you want long endings, there's always Metal Gear Solid 4... IIRC, the point from when you beat the final boss to the end of the post-credits scene clocks in at something like 72 minutes.

Kojima should just make movies. Then again his weird Convoluted stories probably only work in video games.

If they were movies, you couldn't have all the great 4th wall humor that depends on the fact that your'e playing a game.

MGS4 IS one of the reason I want to get a PS3 so late in the game I have all the others (HD Collection on 360) Rising...not sure if I'll get it or not. Kojima's humor is just so bizzare.

Like those commercials in MGS4 that make no contextual sense at all.

That is a classic right there, a piece of gaming brilliance I'll always remember.

Some of mine:

Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Surprisingly dark ending for a kid friendly game

Star Fox - Just epic, hearing voices in a game was a big deal back then, and it really added something special to the moment immediately after you beat the final boss.
"Come in Corneria."
"This is Corneria, Pepper speaking, congratulations on a job well done"
"Roger, I'm heading back to Corneria"

The music immediately following that dialog along with the slide show on all the enemies you've defeated is fucking epic. I used to think SF 64 was better than the original, but upon playing them both recently, I realized that the original has not been bested.

Golden Axe arcade ending - This one's just funny

Most Dissappointing
The Walking Dead - Telltale Games
Soooooo predictable. I had the whole ending in my mind in like episode 2 and 3 and when I beat the game it played out EXACTLY like I thought. I was disappointed. I had hoped for a different outcome and I would have liked it if your choices could have created a different outcome, but all the talk of your choices making a difference in The Walking Dead is total BS. Every major story event in the game is completely unaffected by your choices.

Mass Effect 3 - I think enough has been said about this.
