I know a lot of people are against the look of Mandarin in Iron Man 3. But they had to do something. If they went with the traditional look of The Mandarin, you'd probably have those people that look for controversy pointing at it and saying The Mandarin is a racist stereotype.
I think Ben K. will be great. As a matter of fact I think the entire cast will be great.
More than Iron Man 3, I'm looking forward to Thor: The Dark World. It'll be the first Marvel movie to have the Disney logo at the front of it and I'm sure I'll be quite amused by the fanboys' reaction ("Di$ney's making Marvel kiddy! Oh noes!").

I think everyone who would've actually reacted to that already reacted way back when the buyout happened.

The Marvel/Disney thing just brings to mind how close DC and Warner Bros. have been for so long. For years, I've watched DC animation with Bugs Bunny and the Warner Bros logo greeting me.
Marvel and Disney just seems like it was inevitable

Seriously. Screw you Shao Kahn I'm gonna play Animal Crossing.
I went to see the first Madagascar movie at the theater and felt I wasted the $7.50 or whatever it was I paid. The only good things about that film were the monkeys, and the penguins.
When 2 came out, I didn't even consider downloading it. Then someone had us watch it with them, and we loved it. Way better story, voice acting, and it was hilarious.
We figured 3 was gonna be terrible so again, we didn't watch/download. Well the same friends who told us we'd like 2 said we'd like 3 and they were right. The movie had the wife and I cracking up quite a bit because it was very silly. I think the 2nd wasn't as crazy/silly/slapsticky as 3, but even with the silliness, it was quite entertaining. Plus, it had Martin Short in it as an unhinged sea lion. Short plays a great unhinged, so he was great. Bryan Cranston as the the RROSSHAN tiger was great as well. And Frances McDormand was pretty great as the superhuman French animal control lady. I'd say it was worth a rental. Maybe not a buy, but it's funny. It's not THREE AMIGOS funny, but it definitely gave us a few chuckles throughout.
I'm a bit shocked, but Mila Kunis basically ruins this movie with her half assed performance. She seems out of place and oddly out of her league. Usually she's close to perfection, not at all this go around.
The movie is very "Raimi", right down to his brother having a cameo. OZ is very Shiny & Purdy in every facet but one: pacing. It gets downright dull at points. On the other hand, Michele Williams dazzles, and shows off her acting chops rather well. The other star of the movie is whoever was the set designer.
Reminds me a bit of the latest Wonka movie. People spent more time oohing and ahhing over the factory than on the characters and story.
Going to have a crowd over for a THREE AMIGOS themed party this weekend.
Cerveza and Tequila are definitely on the menu so far, as well as El Guapo'mole.
I'd also may grill out flank steaks and make a chimichurri sauce (yes, I know it's Argentinian, not Mexican, but I like it), but don't have a good pun (or awful pun) to go with it.
Tacos would be the easy route, but sour cream and tequila do not mix.

You HAVE to serve beef tips (carne guisada) and corn tortillas, that way one of your friends will try to eat the taco and the meat will fall out, causing them to ask:

I do hope you'll see it yourself and make up your own mind whether you like it or not. No offense, Luke, but I get tired of hearing people skipped something because they saw one unfavorable review (or half-unfavorable in this case). If I listened to every negative review I heard, I'd have missed out on some movies I ended up really enjoying, like The Green Hornet (so underrated).
Also, my personal favorite Oz movie is Return To Oz, which is just as bizarre as the books could sometimes be, making it the truest adaptation I've seen. That one was also made by Disney and it's the reason I'm really looking forward to this newest one.

"D'you have anything besides Mexican food?"
Nice. Can't do that though, as I have a no spill rule. But I can assure you that at least three of my friends will ask that question, and I'm lowballing it.

It is going to be really interesting to see how big fans of the source material will react. They'll be divided for sure. And although I don't have a desire to see it again, I would.
I haven't read any reviews of OZ yet, but I'm expecting a lot of people to share my opinion on Kunis. She totally phoned it in and her performance is actually distracting. Not that a different actress would have made the film spectacular, but it would have made it slightly better.
