I just really hate that kind of naming scheme. It's a peeve of mine I guess. Driv3r and Wip3out drive me nuts too.

...but surely you have a soft spot in your heart for when they conform to the obvious formula? Me, I hope that they forage around their bag of possible titles and are forward looking enough not to force such a ridiculous format on it. Otherwise, I have a deep sense of foreboding that the forums will be awash with formidable fans who will not be as forgiving as I might be.

Why? If it means I get more games in the Tomb Raider, Hitman, and Thief series, why would you care?

Look, im sick of companies absorbing other companies, and then controlling what they do or influencing change of business practice, it happend to Chrysler (my favorite American car company, well NOT anymore!).

It happend to Blizzard with Activision and their mother company Vivendi Universal, and i can see Blizzard is starting to turn into a crappy company IMO, Diablo 3 on consoles, wtf is that shit.

It happend with Rareware, they arent even the Rareware we use to know! its a wolf in sheeps clothing!.

Just because you get Thief, and Hitman ect ect ect... doesnt mean its going to live up to its origins, and ffs, how many times are they going to reboot Tomb Raider! (dont get me wrong i want to play this new one, but they should be on Tomb Raider 20 by now!) Reboots are just getting old.

Next, China is going to buy out America!

So? 1.) Blizzard started out as a console game maker 2.) There are many cases of them porting PC strategy tiles to consoles (eg. Starcraft 64, Warcraft (Saturn), Diablo (PSX))

The alternative to a change in direction, could mean the company went under completely and then the IP gets bought by someone like EA and you definitely don't get what you want. Reboots can be good and a needed re-vitalization of a property and I personally have loved what they've done with Tomb Raider since handing it over to Crystal Dynamics.

Eidos probably wouldn't exist right now if SE hadn't bought them. They seem to be doing okay under SE's umbrella. SE could probably do a better job of marketing them though.

Tomb Raider has been rebooted twice. Sure that's one more than most franchises but it's not like they've tried to do it every single game.

I really hope the game doesn't take any influence from Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid, Assasin's Creed nor even Dishonored. It ain't Thief if there's a third person view, super natural powers or any kind of melee take down moves. Ok, Deadly Shadows had third person view but it was the weakest game out of the bunch and it wasn't made by Looking Glass.
Screenshots 1, 2, 3, 8 and 9 look alarming, especially 8 and 9. Garrett ain't supposed to be no super human, and if they turn him into a cool Altair/Snake/Corvo-esque killing machine, the game is ruined.

I really, really hope they get the soundtrack and the level design right. The unique and intresting mixture of steampunk and super natural is what made the world of the original Thief games so great. Human Revolution was like Deadly Shadows, a good sequel but it did a few things wrong and because of that wasn't as good as the original(s). But making a good Thief sequel should be easier than making a good Deus Ex sequel.
