It's okay. John Lasseter is head guy at both places now, so I'm sure lots of people make that mistake. That said, Even though some of their films are similar, Disney and Pixar have distinctly different styles and I think what John Lasseter is trying to do is return Disney to greatness by turning the animation department over to the animators the way it used to be and should have been all along.
I think he needs to give Pixar some attention, though, because while their films are still good, they don't wow me the way they used to. Last year, for instance, ParaNorman, The Lorax and Wreck It Ralph all impressed me more than Brave did. I think it's because they've gotten complacent. If they know they're going to win the Animated Feature oscar every single year, they don't feel the need to try as hard. They'd better look out, though, because, IMO, Illumination Entertainment has bested them two movies in a row and Pixar's gonna lose their "best studio" status if they're not careful.
That's my two cents as a hardcore animation junkie.
What was the last movie you've seen?

Noticed I never mentioned THE LAST EXORCISM 2. There's a good reason for that: It stinks (insert Jay Sherman pic).
You do have to love the irony that THE LAST EXORCISM has a sequel, and that they titled it THE LAST EXORCISM 2. That's both ballsy and funny. Hopefully this doesn't lead to a Wayan's production of NAH, SERIOUSLY. I PROMISE YOU THIS IS THE LAST EXORCISM.
Ashely Bell gives quite a great performance, but the movie is so cliche and tedious that her effort doesn't save the film. I may be wrong, but I don't think Noise would like this a bit. Not enough story, too many "jump" scares.

Oh wow I wasn't even aware of this, I'll definitely have to get around to watching it soon. DC really does spoil us with lots of great Batman animation.BurningDoom wrote: Just finished watching this last night. Pretty dang good. Much better than the first part, which I felt was far too drawn out and got boring. This one was action packed. And it had not 1, but 2 amazing gritty fights between an old-man Batman and The Joker, and Batman and Superman.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
is it only available on Netflix DVD? or is it streaming? I cant seem to find it streaming.BurningDoom wrote:

And for those, like me, that didn't appreciate Frank Miller's artwork in the original graphic novel, thankfully it has the normal DC Animated movie quality to it.
The Joker's voice seemed off, though. I guess I've just been spoiled for too long by Mark Hammil's portrayal.
It's available on Netflix, that's where I got it. Check it out.
Anyone else watch it? What are your thoughts on it?
EDIT: Yep, DVD only. Bleh. Navi here I come.

He is a cash cow. Even the movies that AREN'T about him have a tendency to put him front and center. Justice League:Crisis on Two Earths could have just been called Batman versus Owlman.Dylan wrote:Oh wow I wasn't even aware of this, I'll definitely have to get around to watching it soon. At this rate, we'll see every major Batman story animated. They've already done Year One, Dark Knight Returns, Under the Red Hood, and Tower of Babel (technically a Justice League story but heavily focused on Batman)
As a Bat fan, I love it. I'm just pissed about Young Justice being cancelled with so much of the Bat clan getting lots of screen time on it.

I'd love to see Knightfall and Knightsend done as a two-parter like The Dark Knight Returns was.Gamerforlife wrote:At this rate, we'll see every major Batman story animated. I'd love to see a proper adaptation of The Long Halloween.
